You made a big mistake applying for a B visa. You can already use the VWP to stay 90 days. Applying for a B just because you want to stay 6 months instead is not a good reason.
When you get your B denied make sure you update your ESTA answers to say you have had a visa denial.
-
So first she was coming for 6 months, then it was 2 months and now its 8 months.
Yea ok.
-
What you believe is completely irrelevant.
Your financial details are also irrelevant.
What is relevant is the CO believed they did not have strong enough ties. Sure they can try again but don't expect a different result.
-
He did had a visa denied on an old passport from a different issuing country.
So you already have the answer to the question, what exactly is complicated about that?

You don't fill out anything. They fill out the form on the link and attend an interview.

A letter from you saying you are paying for everything for his trip is a negative - basically saying he cannot afford to fund the trip himself which is a reason for him to stay in the US.
On one of my many B2 visits I was asked how much money I had with me for my trip. I answered "nothing, just 3 credit cards". The CBP guy smiled and said "good answer" and stamped me through.
He has already done the hard part by getting the visa so he should be fine. But off course there is always the possibility of being denied entry, only US citizens have the right to enter.

Err exactly, has nothing to do with EU. Thanks for proving you were wrong which I already said.
-
Wrong and wrong. We know, that for EU citizens, by law she doesn't need ESTA, nor visa to visit US, if crossing by land. That's the rule. EU citizen only needs ESTA of visa if wants to fly to US.
-
Oh! That's great, hope to bypass the secondary inspections some day. How often did you travel to the US and how spaced apart were your visits? Is every two-three months for a month and a bit fine? Also, I most likely will be asked the purpose of my visit so would it be fine to say "Getting married then leaving [and filing for a CR-1]" (Not sure about the last bit as you said not to mention anything about filing)
No.
Purpose of visit is always either business or pleasure. If they want more information they will ask.
If they then ask who are you staying with? Your fiance. If they were to then ask are you planning on getting married while here? Then you say yes, and returning home afterwards. Otherwise no need to volunteer any extra information.

MO?Common MO with some consulates in select countries.

Something does not make sense. If your previous visa was issued just a few months ago, why did you not use it for whatever trip you had planned with your family? Why would you apply for a new one when it is still valid?
Sounds like you were sent by yourself to try to see if you get approved. Then once approved, the whole family goes, thinking they will get approved too as you already did.
The CO must have had the same feeling.
-
You seem to think that when you go for a visa interview they care about your feelings, things that you want to forget and make it a nice and enjoyable experience. Why would they do any of this?Hehe it is fine. Thanks. It was my fault not to answered correct the first consul. I was really shocked when he asked my x bf that i wanted to erased in my whole life. After him and within 8 years i had other relationship, even ppl will not believed it, sometimes there are things that we had forgotten and it just come out in an unexpected day, that was happened to me. I am applying a US tourist visa, i really don't knew that it will be asked about my former fiancee visa that i didn't processed. I just applied tourist visa without reading articles about it. Thanks for all the advises here.
They are there to determine if you are trustworthy or not and if you will abide by the rules.
At least you know it was you who made a mistake and there is nothing 'unfair' about it so you can move on and visit somewhere else.
-
Have you EVER met this woman?I will read your link. Visiting her is an option but I was hoping she could see when she may live in the future.
Thanks again

Invitation letter is pointless, your MIL has a mouth which she can use to answer any questions they ask about her reasons for wanting to visit the US, which will help them decide more than just reading a piece of paper.

Nothing to lose by trying again apart from $160

Once you get your Austrian passport and apply for ESTA you still need to answer 'yes' to the question have you ever been denied a visa. This will most likely make the ESTA denied too so you will still need a B2 visa to visit the USA, that won't change.
Unfortunately with 2 denials doesnt look like you will be visiting the US any time soon. After you get married are you planning to join him or is he joining you?
-
Its pretty obvious that she is planning on staying in the USA permenantly and trying to find the easiest way to not have any problems at the POE.
Travelling on a B2 with the intent to stay in the USA is illegal.
-
Do you even have a B2 visa? The maximum they will give her is 180 days, NOT 6 months. I would recommend buying a return ticket for a few days less (say, 175 days), in case there is a weather delay or cancelled flight, you don;t want her to accidentally overstay and be denied next time.
You are giving false information, it is 6 months NOT 180 days. The proof is the 10 or so B2 entry stamps from the last year in my passport.
To answer the OP, does she already have the tourist visa? While the usual length given at the POE is 6 months, it is not guaranteed. She should be prepared to show how exactly she can take a 6 month holiday while still have strong ties to her home country.
-
Ok well according to someone who has a B2 visa (me), 1 question was asked about what I am going to be doing in the USA, and at least 10 were asked about my ties to my home country, so focus on that.According to what I've read, one of the supporting documents is my travel itinerary and/or other explanation about my planned trip.
-
For what purpose? Not needed for B2 visa.I meant of the description on how would I spend my holiday in US. Thanks!
-
Countries I previously travelled to was one of the questioned asked to me at my B2 interview.
So yes I would say it will impact your chances.

As long as she spends at least the same time out of the USA as in then she should be fine.
Not sure what you mean regarding the day trip to mexico? Off course she is free to leave the country whenever she wants. When she comes back she will request entry again the same as every other time.
