Yes, it might a reason for administrative processing, I travelled in one the above mentioned countries and visa officer asked me why you have been in xx country and after explaination he gave me 221g slip and said he need more time to review my application today seventh day no update application status shows administrative processing and visa officer kept my passport after interview.

Why are you bumping a 13+ month old thread?

  2. You don't do anything to convince anyone.

Your spouse has to overcome immigrant intent, just like every other B2 applicant around the world, by showing ties to their home country.

They apply online, go to the interview and answer any questions. That's all there is, pretty simple process.

I started the ESTA application but it's asking me if I was ever denied entry, I'm truly not trying to be a smart ####### but when I went 19 years ago and was told I needed a Waiver to enter and did I want to withdraw my application to enter the US and I said yes and they said ok you can return back to Canada -
I had literally walked over the bridge to go border shopping so after withdrawing they did some paperwork and sent me back.

Is me agreeing to voluntarily withdraw my application constituting as "a denial of entry" ?

Whatever way you look at it you were denied entry. You attempted to enter and you failed.

You are not eligible to use the VWP and your ESTA should be denied.

    Hello everyone,

I'm a resident in France and applied for a tourist visa. After the initial interview, I have received a request to fill out form DS 5535 in which I have provided more information about my travel history, work history, social media..

A week after, I have received a call to go to a follow-up interview. I was asked to provide more details about my travel destinations. I have an extensive travel history for leisure/tourism. Countries I have visited include: Germany, Italy, Malta, Hungary, Austria, Iran, Serbia, Qatar and Syria (prior to 2010).

My case is currently under Administrative Processing.

Did anyone  go through a similar process? If so, how long did it take to get a decision?

It doesnt matter how long it took anyone else to get a decision. You have your own set of specific circumstances.

    It could take days/weeks/months/years.

Nobody can tell you how long it will take.

i Just got a 5 year multiple Visit Visa for USA, My question is that do i need to enter the USA within 6 months from visa issuance date? Or i can enter at any time during these 5 years?

You can attempt to enter. It is not a guarantee of being allowed to visit. You can still be denied entry at the POE just like every other non USC.
