  1. I had the additional documents with me and I showed them to the officer. The officer was happy about them but they asked me to upload them to CEAS and gave me 221g, I then uploaded the documents to CEAC on the spot. Along with the 221g they gave me a form with instructions, the last instruction is to send the original documents to the embassy via DX delivery. Which I did. My questions are: 1- Did I have to do this (send them to the embassy via DX)? since the officer already looked at the original documents in the interview, but they were only concerned that they weren't uploaded? 2- Also, I sent original documents, and I need them for the future, does the US embassy return those documents along with the passport? 3- And if so how long does the US embassy in London usually take to change the status for such scenario from Refused to Issued? Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi, Just as the title suggests, do we send originals of Affidavits or photocopies to USCIS? This is in response to an I-485 RFE we recently received. Family attestations about our shared marital life together. The RFE itself makes no mention of requiring originals, but some Googling has us questioning ourselves. Thank you.
  3. Hello community! We received a RFE for our Form 864, my husband (petitioner) is the main sponsor and we are going with his mom as a joint sponsor. Here is the RFE: You have submitted Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, from the joint sponsor, ELEANORE BROOKS RICHARDS. We are unable to process the I-864 because it has one or more deficiencies. In order for us to process your application further, you must: Submit a completed and signed Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, from the joint sponsor. All pages must be present and of the latest edition date - We did it, last edition and signed Provide the joint sponsor's Social Security Number on Form I-864 - We did it Provide a complete and correctly calculated household size for the joint sponsor on Form I-864 - His mom lives alone, so we put household 2 on my husband's form (he and I) and 2 on his mom's form (she and I) - that's correct? Submit a complete copy of the joint sponsor's Federal income tax return, including all supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and tax schedules) filed with the return, for the most recent tax year. - We sent the Form 1040 for 2020 (joint sponsor) and my husband sent tax transcript for 2020. Submit evidence of the joint sponsor's status as a United States citizen, United States National, or Lawful Permanent Resident - We did it, birth certificates and passports We think that the issue was with the tax documents because they are a bit complicated (40pages) as his mom's income comes from a trust. We are thinking to send now the IRS 2020 transcript instead of tax documents (W2, 1099, 1040) and sending this time also for the 2019 & 2018 (for both, my husband and his mom). She made 46k in 2020, should we send more evidence? Because it is a trust we are not sure what else can we send (she doesn't have pay stub or work relate documents) Any help is greatly appreciate!
  4. My husband received an RFE on his I 485 asking for a copy of the sponsor's birth certificate as well as a copy of his birth certificate, (both of which were sent with the original requests that were sent back in August.) In any case today we sent the copies via USPS Express mail that will arrive there tomorrow, the question is should we also upload the copies to the MYUSCIS account? Thanks
  5. I am not sure which tab this is supposed to go under: My partner and I filed for the k1 visa in October 2020 RFE: 05/29/21 RFE Sent: 06/01/21 Case Accepted by USCIS: 09/10/21 Case Received by NVC: 09/23/21 NVC Sent back to USCIS: 09/29/21 Processed by USCIS: 10/04/21 Country: Ecuador The representative I spoke with said that he sees this all the time and it is very common. He also said that they cannot do a hard inquiry on my case until it has past 180 days without movement. I'm seeing things about letting our case expire? Has anyone dealt with this? Any advice on what to do from here? Thank you in advanced.
