This was absolutely a great piece and left me . A bunch of "progressives" afflicted with major TDS apparently needed a safe space and the New Republic provided it. I wonder if they gave each other awards. What I Learned at the 'Stop Trump Summit' Rep. Jamie Raskin (D., Md.). (The guy who led the second impeachment of former president Donald Trump.) George Conway. (Anti-Trump tweeter and ex-husband of Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway.) Miles Taylor. (Remember that low-level Trump aide and future cable news star who published the "anonymous" op-ed in the New York Times that everyone assumed was written by some senior cabinet official? That guy.) Tony Schwartz. (Trump's ghostwriter for The Art of the Deal.) Don Lemon. (The hack journalist fired from CNN for being a misogynistic #######.) Al Franken. (Effectively fired from the U.S. Senate for similar reasons.) Robert De Niro. (Just trying to pay the bills.) Michael Cohen. (The unhinged former Trump fixer and former inmate who pursued a new career as an anti-Trump celebrity around the same time he became the target of a federal criminal investigation.) Michael Avenatti couldn't make it because he's still in prison. https://freebeacon.com/politics/what-i-learned-at-the-stop-trump-summit/

Makes sense. WAAH tantrum update: Now conservatives are ruining "progressive," too! Conservatives are once again successfully demonizing and devaluing a term embraced by liberals, and this time they are doing it with the help of Democrats. Even in purportedly liberal bastions like San Francisco and Oakland, the word “progressive” is being twisted to denote radical ideas and inept leadership instead of hope and revolutionary change. https://hotair.com/headlines/2023/10/15/waah-tantrum-update-now-conservatives-are-ruining-progressive-too-n584999

Proof of bonafide marriage for 3 yr rule
Dashinka replied to Don0's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
This is what is shown in the N400 instructions (below) relative to marital evidence to bring to the interview. You do not need all that to actually submit the N400 though even under the 3 yr. rule, although most when filing online will upload it. It seems you already have a bunch of evidence from the I751, so you can add to that, and it is up to you if you want to upload it if you file online or take it with you to the interview. Good Luck! 7. Other Documents. Depending on the circumstances, you should bring certain documents to your interview. You may also submit copies of these documents with your application. For example: A. Spouse of a U.S. Citizen. Bring the following items to your interview if you are applying for naturalization on the basis of your marriage to a U.S. citizen: (1) Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for at least 3 years at the time you file your Form N-400. Such evidence may include: a birth certificate (if your spouse never lost U.S. citizenship since birth), Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Form FS-240 Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; (2) Evidence of the termination of all your prior marriages; and (3) Evidence that you and your spouse have lived in marital union for at least 3 years at the time you file your Form N-400. Such evidence may include: (a) Joint bank and credit card statements; (b) Leases or mortgages; (c) Birth certificates of children; (d) Insurance policies; and (e) Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you and your spouse filed for the past 3 years (or an IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years). https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/n-400instr.pdf -
You are correct. Given your situation with no plans to resume residency in the US, the proper course would be to apply for a B2 visa in Germany, and formally surrender your GC via the I407. If CBP questioned you, it is wrong to suggest not surrendering your GC at that point, but I am not sure if CBP would still parole you in. With the wait times in Germany being very low for a B2 application, you should be able to apply for a visa with the DS160, and then also fill out an I407. I am not sure if you need to do the I407 first or if you can turn it in at the B2 visa interview along with your GC. I would not be too concerned with the tax implications as your spouse being a USC still needs to file taxes annually, and that should cover you. Good Luck!

N-400 should I apply now?
Dashinka replied to MisisHilaga's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
I would plan to file the day you return from your trip to avoid any possible biometrics appointments, or even an interview as some local offices are very fast. Yes, when you apply you will need to submit a photocopy of your green card. I don’t see a requirement to include a copy of the extension letter, but you can scan and upload it if filing online. Good Luck! -
This is what I would do at least for this visit, surrender the GC via the I407 when you leave (you can find the CBP office in the airport when leaving). After that, I am not really sure as I could not find any information regarding temporary or permanent residents in Germany. I expect you will need to research that more, but the best I can glean is a temporary resident in Germany may need a B2, but a permanent resident may be able to use ESTA. You might ask that question specifically in the German/Europe regional forum. Good Luck!

I agree, don’t book return tickets too soon after the interview as you never know how it will go. Good Luck!

Daily update on Biden tanking america
Dashinka replied to Nature Boy 2.0's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Hmm, so the Biden Administration wants to meet with the Iraqi judge that issued the arrest warrant for targeting Solemani. Seems Old corrupt petulant Joe is more interested in appeasing Iran. Mystery solved as Iran-backed judge, who seeks Trump’s arrest, confirms invite to Washington, DC https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/mystery-solved-as-iran-backed-judge-who-seeks-trump-s-arrest-confirms-invite-to-washington-dc/ar-AA1hXUWo -
Is this the BB version in Israel? The Biden Admin. Was all but lobbying for Iran yesterday, and their recent actions in providing funds for hostages, not enforcing the Iranian oil embargo, etc. are financing this terror. But what else is new from the petulant WH. Trump’s comments stood in sharp contrast to the full-throated support given to Israel by serving US President Joe Biden and his officials, who have expressed steadfast backing of the country as it reels from the brutal massacres committed by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza border communities overtax the weekend.

When People Tell You Who They Are, Believe Them

Yes, there is a lot of antisemitism among the Democrats/Left. -
I assume this is for a B2 visa. If so, I am not aware of any means to expedite it apart from an emergency. Generally, upcoming travel is not looked at as an emergency unless it is related to an urgent medical condition and treatment. Good Luck! https://visaguide.world/us-visa/appointment/emergency-visa-appointment/
