This @Vaqar Malik is the point - we aren’t giving this advice to rag on you but to prepare you for the line of questioning this kind of age difference and marrying on first in person visit leads to. So that you can be prepared to answer in best way possible.

This didn’t answer the question of marrying someone who is 55 from your country? would you marry someone your parents age if they didn’t have an American passport?

    How does your mother feel
about you not giving her grandchildren - yes this is a question they can ask you at the interview.

Dating online does not count for physically together.

How many days for each trip were you physically in your wife’s  presence?

    Has she met your family?
    Do they approve?
How did they feel about you marrying in another country?
Are you both the same religion?

On the plus side she could move to you.

Sorry if this is just a language misunderstanding on my part - looking forward to implies that there was a promise to immigrate. Do
you know how your mom plan on doing it or did she just say one day we will move to America? Sorry I don’t mean to be rude just trying to see if you have asked her how to gauge if she knows she is eligible for a specific route (family for example)

Sadly it isn’t as easy as just saying I want to move there - not like moving within Europe.

There is the diversity lottery - but it depends on where you were born if you are eligible to apply and there are only so many places available each year to each country eligible. Be very careful to follow all the rules applying - some have slipped up and lost a winning place because they didn’t follow the rules.

There is visa for work but it sounds like your mothers experience isn’t enough for a company to sponsor her. Programming/computer science is a common degree here and you would have to show you had a job offer from a US company who then apply for the visa for you and in most cases they have to show they couldn’t find someone already here that had the skills they needed.

You could possibly come alone on a student visa but US education is very expensive and not always the best quality plus you have to show you will go back home after the degree finishes.

If you just want to try living in a English speaking country seeing if you enjoy it Australia and New Zealand have visas for young people to work for a year - no job offer needed. This will probably have to
wait a bit longer until covid is more under control. I know some who have done this and enjoyed the experience.

Illiria got a reaction from S S in Approved Spouse Visa. Zoom Marriage!
    Congratulations 🥳

I hope you don’t mind my asking a few questions - this has become a more frequent occurrence and some times have always looked like an impediment to this kind of marriage so the more we can point to the successful outcome situation the better future members can look to how to do this correctly.

You aren’t based in Utah correct?

Neither of you were present with the officiant or in the same state as the officiant when the marriage took place - it was a marriage where neither of the participants are present?

Where is the marriage certificate registered - Utah, your state, or where he is?

You say he was asked where he was married - did he say it was online in Utah but he was in his home country or did he just answer simply Utah?

If just simply answering Utah were there any follow up questions about travel to the US that he had to correct?

Thanks for coming along to let of this success - proxy/online marriages have rarely been reported as successfully ending in a visa that we never have an example to point to.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other posters that unless you have a friend or relative you trust implicitly over in the us who can help get the documents together, who has visiting rights, and if the prison allows papers and a pen to be passed to your fiancé then it may be easier to have him petition once he gets out.

If I followed your original post dates then you will still have time to gather documents before the having met once within the two years preceding application is up.

I realise this isn’t what you want to hear but this process is something most of us on here wouldn’t want to rely on someone else not to mess up - why most of us use this site rather than lawyers.
