No one said all cops are saints. But it would be strange to have someone sentenced to 1+ years to do something that didn't have any solid basis in court. If she changed her story and showed no signs of abuse, they couldn't just throw him in for false DV charges. That's why everyone thinks there must be more to the story.

When is the trip to South Korea planned? If it's at least 90 days from now, get that AOS with EAD/AP filed NOW and you should be able to make the trip.
As everyone else has said, the K-1 was a one-time entry visa. Leaving the country now will mean you will have to go back to the UK and file the CR-1 visa (lots more time and another year of waiting).

You can always request expedited AP, but I doubt they would consider a belated honeymoon worth expediting.

Beneficiary on life insurance policy? Proof of traveling together (airline tickets/bus tickets/passport stamps)? Proof from each bank account of $ consistently going to joint expenses? Both names on auto insurance?
I agree with NancyNguyen that they will expect to see some joint mingling since you've been together for awhile. Ultimately, you have to send anything and everything you can think about. You can show that your relationship is genuine during your AOS interview.

You're still a US citizen and bound to tax laws. When you file your visa, there will be affidavit of support forms that ask for the last 3 years of taxes. If you don't have them, you need an explanation of why you were legally not required. It's your job to provide this information, not their job to figure it out.
Be nice if you want help, please. No need to attack me for trying to shed some light on the process you're facing.

There was another post recently that mentioned that CR-1/IR-1 visas are only done in Montreal. K-1 visas are done in Montreal or Vancouver.

This gets asked a lot on VJ, so try doing an advanced search for it and one of the other threads should come up.
You can put unknown for dates and purpose as whatever you want. We put "potential work/visit family"
I'd file it now. Once you need it, it's too late to file and get back to you quickly.

You can always call the embassy to postpone your interview while you sort things out with your wife. It's a huge, life-changing decision.

Or, go to Canada, get legally married now (courthouse), then file the CR-1 for your wife. Keep your wedding plans, do a big celebratory wedding (everything except make it legal because you already did), and you'll only have a (potentially) few more months until her visa is issued after the wedding.
Immigration takes a little bit of the romance out of things, but it's the way it is. Better to do it legally and properly now than have a problem down the road. I see the USCIS like the IRS....you make think it was years ago and have forgotten, but they never forget!

Gather any forms you will need for AOS....divorce decrees, birth certificate, etc. It's easier to bring them than to chase them later once you're stateside!
But yes, relax! Go to your favorite restaurants and go see everyone before you leave! (although I'm pleased to say that they are actively putting Nando's stateside...FINALLY!)!

It's a red flag if it's culturally not the norm. For cultures that are heavily family/having children oriented, a young man marrying an older woman (likely outside of child-bearing age), is against the cultural norms and causes a red flag.

Could you not return without him? If you are the citizen, then you can go back at any time.
Are you trying to expedite that he is the only one who could care for you after surgery?

You must have the returns or be able to explain why you were not legally required to file. If you should have filed and just didn't, then you need to file all the back taxes now.
