I am currently abroad living with my husband and need to return to the states for surgery. I have sent an email to the NVC requesting an expedite for my case. They already have everything (fees, AOS, supporting documents, IV application). Does anyone have any idea how long they will take to process my request and if they will be contacting the doctor who made my diagnosis? I am just curious to know how long this might take and what the process is. My husband is the applicant and I am American and the petitioner.

Could you not return without him? If you are the citizen, then you can go back at any time.

Are you trying to expedite that he is the only one who could care for you after surgery?

I am aware I can travel without him. Yes, it's because I need him to be my care taker post-operatives you and that's what I told the NVC.

Reading around VJ (try the advanced search tool), it sounds like most people hear within about 2 weeks if the expedite will be approved or denied. But I'd say expect up to 30 days and be pleasantly surprised if it's sooner than that.

my wife sent the same request 3 times with copies of her MRI`S form to make surgery and they told her :-

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: xxxxxxxx filed by xxxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate has denied your request for expeditious processing of this immigrant visa petition. This petition will continue processing at the NVC. Once the NVC receives and reviews the required fees and documents, a visa interview appointment will be scheduled based on capacity at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

denied 3 times , i am sorry for that but i should say the truth for you , i wish they approve your request for expeditious .

We were also denied 5 times, it didn't matter that the medical condition continued to progress. And then to add insult to injury, the hubby got called to active duty with the Egyptian army. Even then, they still wouldn't accept our expedite request, regardless of us already having CC.

I pray, Insha'Allah, they show you more compassion.

I think if you get approved to expedite at the NVC level you still might end up at AP after your interview. This would delay your return even more. I think you should think about going back to the USA to have surgery. I know it's hard to be away when you are sick. But, depending on the surgery you need you might end up sicker my delaying your return,
