Your post is a little confusing tbh. Can you clarify if I understand correctly: you are a green card holder, currently residing outside the US, and want to petition your husband? How did you get your GC, and what is the resident since date?

Thanks @Poulette! It went well and did not take that long as I imagined it to be. We had a small group (75 people) so it was pretty fast. I took the opportunity to also register to vote and also applied for my passport and passport card 😃. Only thing left to do is to wait for 10 days to go to SSN to update my records and then I think I am done. Wondering if I also need to update/change my Driver's and ID since I do not have a name change 🤔.

Wishing you and the others a swift and smooth sailing transition soon!

    Hello everyone

As some of you know that my interview was today. I was so excited today. Everything went very well. I drove for  two hours to Clevland office . I passed the security check.  They called my name for the picture and finger print. After 30 minutes , an officer called my name. He was so great person . He welcomed me with a smile . He asked me the civic questions . I passed the First 6 questions so he didn’t have to ask me all the 10
    the questions were:
1 - Who was the president during world war1?
2- Name one problem that led to civil war?
3- There were 13 original states, name three of them?
4-The House of Representatives has how many voting members?
5-We elect the president for how many years?
6- What is the name of the Vice President?
He told me that I passed the civic Test.
Then he asked me to read a sentence that he choose
George Washington was the first president of the United States , then he erased it and he asked me to write it.
He asked me some questions from the application to verify that my answers match the information on my application.
He told me congratulations and that I was approved! He printed a letter ( Attached )
My case statues shows that an oath will be scheduled.

I wish all the best to everyone . ❤️

Registering to vote means you are claiming to be eligible to vote. Being eligible to vote means you would have to be a US citizen.
A (material) false claim to US citizenship is a permanent, unwaivable bar, and cause for removal.

Gah. So I was minding my own business and tried to make it a BAU (business as usual) day, remind myself that I should not check the USCIS website every hour or so 🤣. BUT suddenly I got a text message and email saying that they have emailed me my oath ceremony date!

Can't see the actual date yet but I will refresh the USCIS website ever so often now to see the date

PS: can you tell how excited I am?

    @lucardo3 Sure thing!

    1. The first question was what do you promise to do when you become a citizen?
    2. How many justices are there?
    3. Name 2 rights or freedom in the first amendment.

I am sure there were more questions. I can’t seem to remember it 🤔. He was going so fast but I know I didn’t get any of it wrong. He laughed and asked me if I was sure I didn’t study. (I told him I was nervous when we were walking to the interview room).

Next he told me to read the sentence ‘who can vote?’ on a tablet. And then told me the answer and asked me to write it on a tablet with my fingers.

He then asked a bunch of questions really quickly (if you killed anybody, ever been to prison, same question in the form). Then he printed out an approved/congratulations letter 😁

I brought with me the interview letter, my gc, passport, driver’s license and the original copy of all documents that I provided during form submission. He only looked at my gc, driver’s license and passport and did not bother looking at the other original supporting documents.

I applied on the basis of 3 year marriage. It would have been 5 years if I waited to apply in October.

The interviewer was very nice and friendly and he somehow had a switch and became Very serious and had a piercing eye while doing the interview - most likely doing his job

    To add:
My interview time was at 8AM. But due to traffic (as we all know and love about Atlanta and our favorite 400) I left early to avoid traffic. I got there at 630AM and was allowed in (they were open). The interview took about 7 minutes or so.

I went to the same locAtion for my bio but stuck to the date given. I asked the lady if they accept walk ins, they said it depends on how busy they are which is almost always busy in this particular location (she told me this) then she told me, if I would have done a walk-in, I would most likely be turned away. So, I guess you may want to risk being turned away or just stick to the date for this particular location. 😊

Thank you! Interview done and was approved! They are having some system issues so I need to come back in again tomorrow for another picture and finger prints. The status has been updated on the website and I am now scheduled for the oath ceremony. 🥳🥳🥳

@ak_2018I have a friend in Louisiana that had her interview the same day as mine. She too had her citizenship approved on the spot. She told me that she requested a name change...and...guess what? She said that she already received her oath ceremony date and it is for next week Friday at 1:15pm. So I guess, we really do not know. I also was speaking to my Lyft driver this morning and he too just got his citizenship approved 2 months ago. He said he requested a name change and it took him 7 months before he got an Oath Ceremony date. I guess you will never know exactly? Maybe it is really depending on where you file and how fast that facility is and the amount of people that are applying for citizenship etc?
