It unfortunate that several months were wasted. On the other hand, you can save a lot of time at NVC stage if you are proactive by knowing what will be asked and responding to them immediately.
    Good Luck

Hey lovely people, I hope you are all doing well, so I applied for Financial aid with my prima facie and it was awarded I can finally go back to school, just a little good news I wanted to share. Thanks to everybody here for their advice. I still have a long way to go, but I thank God for the little blessings along the way. I hope that those of you who are waiting for some sort of news hear something great and for those of us who are still new to the journey I pray God gives us the strength and patience (especially me 😅); and for those who are planning to begin the process, I pray that God blesses you with the courage to begin. Happy labor day lovelies.

I rejoice with you dear..the example of a grateful heart..often we focus on big goals..not appreciating the little blessings God bestows on us daily. These are meant to keep us going, to comfort us while we patiently wait for the big ones...each day I wake up, I thank the LORD for life, health, shelter, clothes and food! Without life how can you dream? Without health how can you enjoy wealth? Let's learn to appreciate and be thankful! Godbless y'all!🙏💕💖😊🌟✨🌟🌟✨💫💫

Do you have a lawyer? If yes let him talk to your lawyer..also if y'all don't have any complexities then you could sign after thoroughly studying the document to avoid trapping yourself in anyway!

Hahaha I have received like 4 letters from my dear friend Laura. She probably knows me by now.

Anyways. This letter means Vawa petitioners would only get information about their cases through the following:

    1. your attorney if you have one
    2. your senator if you inquire through him/her
    3. You if you (1) don’t have attorney, and (2) you WRITE A LETTER to Vermont

Just make sure you sign the letter with same signature you gave in your case submission form.

Once again, there is no official requirement for a 3rd party in the US, or anywhere else in the world, to provide the applicant with any documents.

Please provide a link to your sources.

And I have seen someone apply 3 times and get denied but get approved on the 4th.
A member here reported that his mother in law who is a poor farmer got approved on the first try.
The situation you mentioned is one in a pile of many cases where no letters or documents made a difference. You showed that it is not impossible, but it is still not the norm. Like I said, There are plenty of posts right here on VJ even from the PHL where an invitation letter did nothing.

It is NOT incorrect information. What you are referring to is for the applicant. Not from a relative in the US. The supporting docs should be docs showing the applicants stable jobs, property ownership, bank account's and such. The OP is asking about what documents they provide, which is nothing.

And there are many cases here on VJ where an invitation letter did nothing. The interviewing officers did not even look at them.

No, VAWA self-petitioners are exempt from needing an I-864. Back in the day you'd file I-864W, these days you check a box on I-485 that you're exempt.

We're also exempt from needing an I-944 but that's a moot point since that thing got tied up in so many lawsuits that USCIS finally quietly just pulled that form from the page.

Senators have authority and their requests are taken seriously. I am glad you were able to get quick response.
Stay proactive on your case and before you know it, you will be a citizen

Thanks to the advice of many of you here specially @onek and @Stillwinning!!!😊, I have been more proactive depending less on my attorney.
Here's an update on my EAD:

Response from Vermont on Aug 28 through senator's office:

My response to Senator's office on the same day:

    Today from Vermont:

Note how the senator's inquiry was made on September 3 and Vermont replied the next day (today, September 4). I am shocked, how fast!

In order to avoid misinformation from others, I would suggest you to stick to the USCIS website for updates and processing times. They update their processing times monthly, not weekly. If your case is in VSC then expect their processing times for your NOA2. If you're extremely lucky, you might get your NOA2 sooner than expected but that's rare.

Pretty selfish mate.... All of us are in the same position waiting for our Interview date and under similar circumstances . Unless there is an an exceptional circumstance why are you more special than the rest of us?

onek reacted to Demise in April 2020 I-30 for Parents
Well in order to petition him, your husband has to prove that he's a stepparent, which is one of those indirect relationships. Essentially he needs to prove that you and the husband are married, married while the son was under 18, and your son is well... your son.

It's a bit unusual for a couple to marry and for the USC spouse to petition for the stepchild first but no, it wouldn't cause any issues.

Also what issues you mean exactly when you said "requirements to prove me as his wife", at the I-130 stage the only things you need is a marriage certificate, some ID from you, and proof that the petitioner is a USC/LPR. If you're worried about the financial stuff, don't be, you won't get an interview for like 12-18 months which is plenty of time to get joint bills and accounts.

Did you file an I-360 and if so what's going on with it. You know what, just give me a full timeline (you can approximate if you don't know exact dates) of all your immigration stuff.

Governors don't really help with federal matters. You want to get your congressman or one of the senators. Basically find their page on the house or senate page, find the "contact" section, send them a message explaining your circumstances, they'll send you a privacy act release form which you then will then fill out, sign, and send back to them.

I've done this this week actually.
