ali.cha reacted to Ashika in IR5 July 2020 filers
I had applied for both my parents 07/19/2020. Dad’s case was in Texas and mom’s was Potomac. Dad got approved 02/25/2021 and got his visa already 07/12/2021.
Mom’s case was approved 05/12/2021 and she has visa interview for 07/30/2021.
I hope everyone get their approval and visa soon. The waiting game is tough!

Yes I’m over it, I don’t understand how people applying after ours are being sent to Nebraska and approved within weeks.. Just doesn’t make sense and seems to be pure luck.. How does the status saying “Your case is being actively reviewed” for over 4 months have no update? Seems they’re not actually “actively reviewing” them, it’s just to make you believe it’s being assessed and really a bit of false hope.. Mines also at Texas probably stacked beside yours, PD Dec 7th 2020, actively reviewing Jan 29th 2021, because it took ages at the lockbox ..

Anybody else tired of the "Your Case is being Actively Reviewed" message? It's been four months (since Dec 10th,2020) PD Dec 9th 2020 with no more updates. It's exhausting. My case is in Texas.

ali.cha reacted to Dashinka in I130 - sponsor mother - additional evidence
If you have the birth certificate showing your and your mother's name, that is all you need. Of course a copy of the Naturalization Certificate or US Passport bio page to prove you are a USC, and if you have any name changes that are different from your birth certificate, you should also include those.
Good Luck!

I want to wish you all a Happy New year, hopefully it won't take much longer for you all that are still waiting. Today was my Oath ceremony and I'm so glad it's all over! it's been a long journey, I'm proud to be a US citizen 😄.

Hello,
I thought for the CR 1 application we dont have to file for an adjustment of status?

ali.cha reacted to Stevo1979 in if offered to take the oath same day can i request to take it later?
I would jump at an offer of same day oath without blinking an eye irrespective of whatever trip.
The trip you are making has already been planned and travel documents secured. I am guessing your GC and Pakistani Passport are good.
So what does US passport have to do with the trip?
Just take the oath and be done and go on your already planned trip

Hey guys! I was approved for citizenship! The officer who conducted the interview with me started from civic questions, they were the easiest ones like what is an amendment, where the statue of liberty is, when constitution was written. Then she asked me to read one sentence and write one on ipad. The only hardest moment I had was i changed a multiple numbers of addresses and she walked through them, unfortunately I didn't remember the dates i moved in/out. Otherwise everything was easy, i wasted time on stressing myself out. Oath ceremony notification will take up to 30 days, hopefully physically i can attend soon. Good Luck everyone!

My stress is raising every day, it's been 110 days since bio and processing time in San Diego area increased up to 15 months. Although my wait time decreased from 2 months to 29 days, I don't know how accurate is my estimate time

For those of you that have recently posted that you've had your interviews schedule, please be sure to update your info in the Google Doc so we can keep track! Thank you!

Yes but they really want to include the stupid person in your past life even though you already burried the memories deeply to forget, any way I guess its only in my case .its ok just move on again lol.

Just waiting game now, for interview scheduled notification. That will be very similar to other cases at your field office.
I am not going to start studying until I receive interview scheduled notification. They give 4-5 weeks for actual interview. Plenty of time!

Hi! April filer here. We only have 7 people in our group with confirmed interview dates as of yet (in the google sheet). I am hoping more people have one, but just hasn't updated yet, although I think most people in the group check/update the sheet whenever they can. The sheet is very handy - I would recommend it for you guys! Good luck all, and I wish you speedy interview notifications:-)

Lets do it. I keep checking April fillers and it doesnt seem they have the dates for interview or maybe they forget to update timelines. Do anybody know how long estimately wait the status change to interview scheduled? What order uscis you think schedule the dates?

ali.cha reacted to N400NYC in N400 APRIL 2019 FILERS
What I don't understand is why, at an organizational level, there has seemingly be no effort to make that happen. Maybe the attitude is that we should be grateful to have the opportunity to become citizens and accept whatever conditions are placed in front of us along the way, including absurdly long wait times? The other way to look at is is that we pay taxes like everyone else and have met criteria under the LAW to be eligible for a citizenship, so why are we being forced to wait and wait and wait?

ali.cha reacted to Going through in Online N-400 Required Evidence
With the 5 year rule, rental agreement/bills/taxes are not required with the application. Your N400 is based on your 5 year continuous and physical residency, not your marriage or family relation.
You can bring the tax transcripts to your interview, but unlikely it will be asked for.
Don't send the health statements...unless you're at risk for proving continuous residency it's really not needed, neither are the boarding passes---just list your trips as accurately as you can on the application. They will confirm your travel history through their own databases, anyhow.
