i-130 question

At which USCIS office will the beneficiary apply for adjustment of status to lawful permanent resident?

 

If I write a specific location, does that mean I can only apply there moving forward?

Are you filing for Adjustment of Status (AOS) alongside the I-130? If so, you list the field office covering their residence within the US. Otherwise, this section should be left blank as they will go through consular processing for an immigrant visa abroad.

I thought for the CR 1 application we dont have to file for an adjustment of status?

If the beneficiary not in the US adjusting status, and is instead going through consular processing abroad, then the adjusting status office section is left blank and you instead fill out the space asking in which city and country the visa interview will take place in

Correct - a CR-1 visa will not go through adjustment of status. So as stated, those fields would be left blank on the I-130.

If you have a text or word processing document you would like to submit for evidence, send us a PDF version of the file. When saving your file, select PDF as the file type to save.

Well, it applies to people who are doing I-130 + I-485. USCIS needs to know whether to hold on to the I-130 after approval or to send it to NVC. The I-130 is used for multiple circumstances.

Yes, this applies if their native written language does not use Roman letters.

Information about beneficiary in native written language is only needed if your beneficiary's name/address includes any letters that aren't in the English alphabet (such as any languages that may use a different writing system, or if the name/address contains any other non-English letters like ñ, á, é, í, ó, ú, ü, ä, ö, ß, æ, ø, å, etc etc etc

the forms are used for multiple purposes. in our case, since we adjusted from a tourist visa, i filed the 130 with the 485 (and EAD and AP forms).

 

It can be quite confusing which you need to do. The guides here on VJ help a LOT.
