Could it be that they have suspicions that the relationship isn't real since you were childhood friends and your parents are friends? The Consulate may suspect that you are only getting married so she can immigrate. What type of evidence did you submit and she have with her to support the validity of your relationship? That is the only thing I can really think of from what you have provided - for some reason they doubt the authenticity of your relationship.
Good luck on identifying what the problem was, because you will need to know what it is in order to address it so it doesn't cause any problems with a spousal visa. When your fiancee is able, do dissect the interview question by question. It may not be one specific question but a series of questions that will reveal their concerns.

From a K1 visa you can only adjust based on the original petitioner. I am afraid you may be out of luck because your VAWA is not related to the original petition. Vawa has a few odd exceptions but I am not sure if any involve a 3rd party petitioners

Sorry to interfere in u'r personal life. You said, your husband used you to get a US visa & a Green Card, I've few questions;
1. Are you a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident? I see that you've only moved to US in Aug 2009 and how did you get your GC or Citizenship?
2. How did he get a 10 year Green card? Did you sponsor for his Green Card or Did he get it through his employment? It seems like you married him only in 2012, if he is getting 10 years Green Card, it could only be through you (provided you are a citizen, filed for his initial GC in 2012 & removal of conditions by early this year) or if can get it only through his Employment, ideally through EB1 filing (which is not a marriage fraud, where you don't have any control over it & there is nothing illegal here)
3. I see your VJ status as F2-A visa filed, so I would like to know, how would you claim that you have sponsored his Green Card?
Kindly explain so that other VJ members can provide you better suggestions and help.

$30k seems pretty low for an accountant - especially in a major city. Nonprofits will generally pay lower than companies - but should generally be expected to have better benefits. 20 days vacation is pretty good in the U.S. - assuming you also get sick leave. Not sure how good your other benefits are.
You could try to negotiate, or you could work there for 6+ months and then start looking elsewhere.

hi guys, the ones who follow my story and those who don't.....fiance and i got approved for the k1 visa april 18th, so 3 months ago, havent heard anything bout our case since then.
after all the frustration and sadness and anger with dealing with the uscis and nvc, constantly calling them, not knowing what is going on with our case....we, just yesterday, contacted fiance's state senator and a representative. we sent them a letter explaning everything and asking to help us. and today.....a lady from this senator's office called my fiance and said for him to sign a privacy release thing and email it to them and that they will find out bout our petition today....so he emailed it to them and about an hour ago she called back and said they contacted the uscis and found that our petition has been sent to the records center......(like so many people here told me) and that they commanded it to be send off to the nvc and that we should hear back from the nvc within a week. so....i really really hope it will get to the nvc within a week and does not stay there for AP....after all we've been thru....i hope it just gets sent off to Warsaw embassy and i go to the interview soon!!! i cant believe this senator/senator's office staff responded this quickly AND CALLED, twice, found this out within a day while we couldnt do that for 3 MONTHS NOW. bless these people. it's sad tho that the uscis and nvc didnt tell us anything but the authority person calls and it gets figured out....but im glad and i just want to thank u all for all the help.

Without knowing where she lives, number 1 is hard to answer. If she lives in or near a fair sized city, then answer is there probably is one.

To be honest with you, my husband would rather be in Denmark but he knows I am happy here, so he is happier here. America isn't any better of a country to live than any other first world country, in fact a lot of times, for people from those places, it can certainly seem worse.
Wisconsin is a good game plan especially with the climate. We just moved to way northern Minnesota and my husband, who is used to the cooler temperatures, loves it here. The people are also much more like the Danes he is used to back home.
