I do agree I can see that being an issue if one has to check it in, with how much they toss ####### around and mistreat people's stuff.
 
If this occurs what I would suggest is to get a travel bag or backpack. In my case, I have the Everki Titan Checkpoint backpack. There is extra room, use it for padding and add bubble wrap like doing a package to the inside to lessen the effect of fall damage.
 
As for safety, there's no question this is being done for safety after a flight saw a person who had explosives in their laptop detonated it on a flight. Thankfully the idiot only killed himself. But what other recourse is there when the sophistication of terrorists reaches this level?
 
Anyhow, probably a good idea regardless nowadays to always check in advance what you can bring on and what you can't.

Anyway. This is me playing officer again and imagining how they might scrutinise.  The Tower of London photo - that could have been taken any time, not necessarily on that trip. It shows you met, but doesn't prove the when.
 
Having the passport stamps is important because they're government issued, so in their eyes, less likely to be faked.  Travel itineraries are documents made by private companies that they can't verify. 
 
It's a combination of things.  They want hard stuff (government issued things, for example) with corroborating secondary stuff (like boarding passes). They use them all together to form an idea of how likely it is that you actually met the criteria that they can't possibly really, truly, know (without a time machine or having personally met you both at the same time on that trip). 

no she wont - it is perfectly LEGAL to enter the country and then 10min later change your mind and decide to stay and AOS.  In fact, at the interview NO ONE even brings it up - the io ONLY cares that your marriage is legit and real.

read the stories on people that AOS from tourist visas.. have you seen one case where someone has been denied a visa based on this? NO! bc u can not be denied a visa for changing your mind AFTER poe!
 
the fact of the matter is - the border is there to prove your intent.. if you get pulled into secondary and questioned and they look through luggage, laptop, phone ect and find evidence then you have a HUGE problem (good luck on your life in america cards is a huge giveaway). if you get thru after that, your intent is over and you are free to marry, overstay whatever it is!

Second of all it does goes against you that you already id in a second country because if you left home to be there what stops you from leaving there to go live in US also with your whole family and your parents being citizens.

I agree with the Nature Boy on this one. She lied on paperwork before so whose to say she hasn't done that in other instances? Also is the daughter legal or not right now? If she is legal then why did she not petition for her Mom in all this time?

I am a Southern boy, not a Redneck but just a plain old country boy. and I am from NASCAR country. I could have put in my two cents in to this conversation since I added my comments to the WSJ article as well. I will pretty much cut and paste my comments from there on to here. 
 
I am what NASCAR referred to as a diehard fan, formerly. I grew up in NASCAR country outside Greensboro NC, and we had race car drivers/crew chiefs actually living in and around us, heck some of them actually went to my grandfather's funeral when he died in 89.  I used to go to RCR every year for open house, we used to go to Mark Martin's shop every year as well. My whole family used to love to watch racing, goodness I couldn't tell you how many times I would watch it on a big screen at my parents house. I can take you right down the road to where Petty's place is in Level Cross because I am from the area, my brother was friends with Adam Petty before he died. We used to go to the Charlotte and Rockingham races every year to camp out in the infield. My father actually saw where the sport was heading in the last 90's and tried to start a fan association to help the sport in decisions and what was best for the fans. You know what happened? NASCAR sued my father and basically railroaded him into selling them the rights to the association and said screw the little guys. 
 
I can't even stomach watching the races anymore because they have sold our their base to expand to a less loyal audience. The cars look the same and drivers look like models now. Quite frankly I am happy just watching a good short track or dirt race. Good Riddance to NASCAR

I've raced half my life, and am a NASCAR fan, but even I am losing interest.  All the car bodies are exactly the same.  No difference Ford vs Chevy vs Toyota, just the manufacturers sticker.  They keep playing with the rules regarding points, and this year it just got a lot more complicated.  Big money ruined the sport. 
 
Wish there were a good 1/2 mile dirt track close to where I live.

Per Trump estimated cost is around $12 billion.  Wall could be 50 feet high and made of pre cast concrete.   I have seen them put up buildings with pre cast, they go up very fast.
