I would be glad that you are not at VSC, as me and my wife (K-1) were there 6-20-12 thru 12-31-12, and then NVC, and on to Manila.
186 days, maybe TSC will be a little quicker, or maybe they will transfer some cases to CSC, like was done a few months ago, and "I think" most all have already been approved, not sure.
I hope something happens for you to get your "to be" here for the big day!

It really helped me, and I would just suggest you print in out, for future reference, so you will not forget anything.
As for where your K-1 goes, as another OP said, if it is TSC, expect +6months after NOA1, if you get lucky and go to CSC, it might be 1-4 months. ""This is just my guesses, and have 'NO' merit"" it is just an opinion.

Good answer LORIE and PHIL, as doing business with a local Credit Union, that is FDIC insured, meaning it is secure is a very good idea.
If you want to build good credit, fast, secure a good standing with them, checking, small savings acct., then get a "secured loan" say $300. dollars, and pay more than the minimum payment each month, and watch your credit score zoom!
You secure the loan with your checking account the first time, then do it again, and double up to $600. and IT will probably not be "secured".,.,.and make more than the min. payment, and just watch the credit score zoom!
As for credit cards, most all major credit cards are fine, some better than others if in the Eastern US.,.,.BB and T is a great mid size bank to do business with. Otherwise, I would say "Chase" would be my pick. Just my opinion.

Click on "Guides"..,,.print off the K-1 guide, and go down each item, 1 by 1, and do it exactly as the K-1 Guide says, you will have no problems.

I think that Darnell, is spot on, and he is rarely mistaken, if you follow what Darnell said, word for word, at least to me, it is your best chance!

I am totally lost on this thread. Of course, I am lost many times here.
My wife is Filipino and came here by K-1 visa, and from Day 1, her NOA 2 she had an """A""" number, and had one through her AOS procedure.
It was replaced with her AOS number.,.,.,but she was K-1 visa, and had an Alien number through out the process.

Withdraw the AOS (GC) immediately! If not you are going to be on the ""hook"" for 10 years!

WHY is the TSC being "hosed" so bad.,.,.,,..""WHY""., not even the work load and if you need to keep adjusting, between service centers, then do it!
How can CSC be 29 days, and TSC be over 180 days.,.,""WHAT is wrong with that!
I suggest move to CSE districts for a month, file, get approved, then move back to your original home! If I was going through K-1 again, I would do it in a "heart beat!!""

Either she travels to meet him, or he travels to meet her, IT MUST be one of the two.!!!
Two main requirements, must have met face to face within the last 2 years, and be free to marry.,.,.,.,.,,and be ready to have near perfect proof of these 2 requirements.
Failure of either one of these requirements, then there is NO.,.,. K-1 VISA to be filed, it will just be rejected!

I have to say my wife, Joy and I have a similar marriage, as we feel very lucky, to have this wonderful marriage, and I wass given so much help from this site, while going through the K-1 visa, at VSC. Very thankful for vj.com!
