    Pros:

-not having to deal with USCIS any more, or ever pay fees to them again.
    -voting in the Presidential election.
-securing your status as a citizen, given the current immigration climate these days (personally, this is why I finally did it after being a LPR for over a decade).
-being able to travel for long periods of time, and the guarantee of being able to reenter the US without worry.
-keeping your original citizenship (depending on the country you were born in).

    Cons:

-the normal wear and tear of having to file a form/gather documents/attend an interview.

I was quite happy with my amicable divorce from USCIS.

Most people ever deal with jury duty a couple of times in their lives. It's a mildly boring afternoon in most cases.   Not worth making a life decision on.

There are many threads here discussing this specific topic where the couple can look too married for a K1, but not married enough for a spousal visa due to “unofficial” ceremonies.  You may want to consider making it official and filing for a spousal visa which in general is a far superior visa.

    Good Luck!

We actually filed my husband ROC the day his GC expired.  It was sent overnight so they received it one day late.  I wrote in my coverletter why it was filed late (big cross country move causing documents to be lost and a huge financial strain).  We got our NOA a week later dated the day it was received.  (see our timeline)  The ROC process took a long time because we got our first ever RFE for a lack of additional documentation after the move and also had our first interview as well.  Any delay in the process was mostly caused by us, not necessarily because we filed a day late.  He was eligible to file for citizenship while his ROC was pending, but we again couldn't do it right away.  He became a citizen last month.  6 years from k-1 to citizenship.

I think you will be fine. Good luck.

For those who lost their interview letters or just never got them despite knowing an interview is scheduled:

Call and ask them to fax it to you. I called today and my interview is tomorrow. They faxed me the copy of the letter within 15 mins. The officer also told me it is at the discretion of the field office if they let you in or not without the letter.

It also specifically says on the letter to bring the letter with you.

    Thanks!

I've been told some good advice many times in my life: If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with realizing a mistake and going "Oh #######! I misunderstood what was meant." Instead, it's...
"It should have been described more clearly on the form." versus "I missed the related documents, didn't properly research it, and didn't ask first."
"They should have caught my mistake beforehand" versus "I shouldn't have made the mistake, learned from it and paid the consequences, and will try to avoid similar mistakes in the future."

Please don't misunderstand me...I truly harbor no ill will towards you or her. But when it comes to immigration, details matter and you need to both do your research first as well as have personal responsibility for any results. Pointing fingers at USCIS will never end well unless you can prove that they violated law or policies. What any individual believes they should do won't change the results. In this case, the mistake only results in a little bit of time and some money. For other immigration processes, mistakes can result in something far more substantial.

    Best wishes.

You have to have some utility bills you can both be on. I have a solar system as well and am Net Zero for my system( No usage off the grid) Unless you are completely off grid with a battery backup system, you still get a bill from the power company for the Meter rental( You can't legally own a meter hooked to their grid, I have tried, trust me). I live in Las Vegas, NV and in the summer when it is 115 out I still don't have a power bill, but I get a bill for 13.75 a month for Meter Charges. You don't have any cable, water, gas, sewer, trash bills. You obviously have internet access, you must get a bill for that, do you have cell phones? I have checked with all my utility companies so I know what ones I can add my fiancee to when she gets here, and I can add her to all but one bill. I will have her on my Power/ cable/ gas/ water and sewer, so that's 4 bills easy, plus maybe get added as an authorized user on a few credit cards, I already added my fiancee to one of my credit cards with no foreign transaction fees so she can buy things she needs, and most importantly pay for the embassy fees, travel, medical, vaccinations and other expenses to get the K1 visa, so should have a record of a joint credit card to show also. Do one of you own a car? You can both be on the title, if your worried just make sure you put Owners name "AND" your name on the title that way both signatures are required to sell the vehicle( If your worried about that, probably not after being together 5 years). You have drivers license (ID Card) with the same address I'm sure. Go get a joint Gym membership, if you search I am sure you can come up with some good ways to show you are commingled.

I'm sorry to hear that.  We got an RFE once during our removal of conditions.  It sucks.  I think you re-sent everything you could and more.  All you can do is just wait now.  Just know: none of this process will be very logical or efficient.  Just roll with it, be patient and try to distract yourself with other things because it can be very consuming.

So just to make a list of everything new I intend to send:

The photos in the picture above, plus 5 more photos of us together. (They all had dates written on them, and the new one will as well.)
A scan of the ID page of the passport that's from (beneficiary.)
New passport photos done by professionals instead of the passports photos we took ourselves.
A print out of an email of an Amazon Confirmation of things I bought and had delivered to his apartment while I was there.
A print out of the emails I got when I booked my itinerary of flights, showing my flights to Chicago, then to Pittsburgh, then from Pittsburgh back to London.

[The page above was a scan that was directly printed, so there's no digital copy of it, and I have the other version here, as we made two copies of the packet. Can we just refer them to that page somehow, or maybe send this picture that I sent you guys of the page?]

Does that sound like it would be sufficient? Should I include a cover letter explaining why I've included these things?

This is an important part too.  Seriously, if Pedro dislikes the idea of settling in the USA, it could cause many problems in the marriage later on.
The immigration process is stressful enough for people who DO like the idea of being an immigrant.  Add in someone who resents the idea of living in the USA to begin with, who felt pressure to marry, and then all the stress of acclimating to an entirely new culture, adjusting to a new marriage, leaving friends and family behind, etc. it is extremely difficult on Pedro and may cause wear and tear mentally/emotionally.  Visiting the USA is very different than living in the USA.

Only you two know your relationship, and only you two know your level of commitment to one another.  Continue to consult with immigration attorneys on the possible consequences of your decisions/actions---and get a few opinions from different ones as not all of them are reputable.
