the limb you went on is short indeed. they happen to be very well off and own condo on the beach, where will be staying till we find a place of our own. and i think if you were a grandma or grandpa you would jump at the chance to see your grandchildren whenever you can. "providing child care" is a stretch from what i am talking about. and seeing family who live in another country is a vacation for some people so before you just assume something about someone you know nothing about, ask yourself , does everybody's life suck as much as mine?
p.s. wou have no concept of money some people work hard and save well which allow them to do the things they really love and none of these people are anywhere near bill gates's wealth or own a fortune 500 company
    hire a life coach.

While I know nothing about the OP...I would like to say the above statement is far from the truth. Many many people from my country (Sweden) for instance go abroad for 4,5 or 6 months at a time...as tourists! Without having Bill Gates money It's called saving and taking a leave from work (or if you are retired). Though most of these people tend to go to Thailand or the Caribeean and maybe not the US. But it depends where you have friends, where you can go...
I know though that most of my US friends are lucky if they can get 3 weeks off a year...so yes there are differences. I sincerly hope that US embassys are aware of this when they give out the visas

kittylondon reacted to Speeds03 in Short Videos of How To Fill Out or Sort the I-129F Packet
I was wondering why no one hasn't thought of this? A visual image speaks louder than words - when it comes to this stuff. So how come VisaJourney members haven't done an official youtube channel for short and straight to the point videos to help people fill out all these different types of forms. Also, videos on how to, for example: assemble a I-129F packet the correct way, how to keep petitions short with all the required evidence, for faster approvals, and etc...
Is there a specific reason why VJ admins haven't done an official Youtube channel for videos like this? And if this were to be applied, who would be willing to spend some time to make some videos? These videos could be submitted to Admins of this wonderful site, and then added to the VJ youtube channel. This would extremely help out TONS of people. If I would have seen a short video on how to quickly assemble a I-129F packet, I would have sent my petition maybe 2 months earlier. It is just a thought, so what are your opinions on this?

Not sure why people that dont know what they are talking about would say stuff like that to you....
I made many trips under the vwp to see my boyfriend...then my fiance...and one time it was with my 3 kids.....Gawd the immigration guys would laugh at me as I was always bringing my BOYFRIEnd Aussie Beers and wine....
they really couldnt care less about an aussie gal coming to the usa to see her boyfriend....those guys are more concerned with people from underveloped countries overstaying their visa's or trying to sneak in....I have never come accross an American who didnt want to really come to Australia....came accross many that didnt wanna go to many other countries in this world..Most Americans are not that dumb...they know which countries are as good (I say better) than theirs....
I hope you have a great time over here....that you treat it as it is....a fun visit to finally get to see someone very special face to face....to finally touch someone you have known for all this time...sort of like being given the gift of sight to a blind person...take heaps of pics, and if you can...massive amounts of video....
Dont be too fixated on marrying the guy ... not saying you are but Im just looking at your age and just want you to have fun fun fun....and please try to make him visit you in Australlia before you decide on anything....I think he needs to know your culture....before you decide on moving here...or he moving their.....???
In fact, tell that to immigration if they decide to question you....and have a great time.

So basically you're saying that not all people are responsible, therefore we need to assume everyone is irresponsible and have the government step in and decide who gets married. Nice.

    I am against lying.
But she has no intent to stay here. She needs to go back to finish her studies. The point is to just get legally married and that's it, and then I can start a legal immigration route while she finishes her studies. We want to do a legal marriage because we see no reason not to since we're committed. Plus, she has the time to come over here and get it done, then she can go back and finish her degree (approx a year) and by that time she'll be able to move here.
There will be no visa fraud going on here. She's not going to stay here after she gets legally married.

8 days from my K1 interview date and our visa's are on there way tomorrow - between 8 - 12.
    YES!
It came in the nick of time as Larry and I were going cuckoo trying to arrange and re-arrange wedding plans and the honeymoon via twitter. NOT fun. Suddenly, I do not care about all that crazy stuff and just being with him in the knowledge we won't have to say goodbye in a few weeks time or pack suitcases for a long while.
    YES!
We are booked to fly on Friday afternoon with a layover of four hours at Chicago for all the paperwork and stuff.
Thanks, for getting us to this point VJ. This place is a wonderful resource and there are so many good and helpful people. I will be back I am sure for the next stages, so until then adios.

Your right I wasn't asked for a thing!!! So the panic was for nothing i suppose!
But im glad i was prepared 'just in case'. The lady on the desk asked me what was the purpose of my visit, i said to visit my fiance who is on r and r from the army, she asked how long it had been since we'd seen each other and i explained he'd been deployed for 7 months... her response was to stand up shake my hand and ask me to pass that on to my fiance and thank him for fighting for his country!!! I nearly welled up infront of her, and so did his Mom when i told them the story! One very proud fiancee !

No, Laure, this person is a Permanent Resident. She CANNOT use on the VWP anymore. That would be a disaster... She would be giving up her GC rights, etc. She must travel as a Permanent Resident.
OP - That is very sad indeed. You'll need to contact the embassy, and hopefully they can sort you out in a day. Might have to wait until Tuesday though, but after that it shouldn't be long. Best of luck.

The way your relationship works isn't necessarily the way everyone else's does.
I did every single piece of paperwork for the entire process by myself. I just showed my husband (then fiance, obviously) where to sign. That's the way it worked for us. I'm very detail oriented and I had the time to do it. I don't necessarily believe that if the couple works on it together, it proves somehow that they both want it to work out. Some people just do things differently.

well she is 22 years old is working on her masters and has a ba in human ecology , she has never left home and is completely dependent on her mom for support . anyone that knows the philippines knows its not easy to get by when your healthy and have been working half your life over there never mind 22 and just starting out and have never held a job not to mention the only family you have wont be around to let you cry on there shoulder when needed .
we were working on a school visa in hopes that she could continue her schooling and maybe put herself in a better position to obtain a b1 . but when i began to read what was written on the us embassy web site under applications f1 visa about how if you should apply for a student visa and your family member has just immirgrated they wont allow you to go because they are afraid you will never come back
my idea was to put in a i130 and let the clock start ticking and then get her into school after some time she could get a few years older and handle herself abit better and she would be that much more educated even if she were to go back to the philippines by then at least she could handle herself and if she were lucky maybe even get a job and a b1 during that time
and if nothing else she would close the gap on the wait time

absolutely right. my fiancee is a 3rd year med student, working incredibly hard to be qualified as a primary care physician in new orleans. in his spare time he volunteers at free clinics throughout the city. his parents are helping him out financially, and will by my co-sponsors, but we're not comfortable asking for money from for an expensive dress or dinner for 100 people. we care about the long and happy marriage, not the wedding, and i see nothing "shameful" in that.

Uhh... excuse me, but Oct 07 means October 2007 to me, not 7 October 2011, which means that the illegal entry was more than 4 years ago, not just a few months ago.
OP - did the entry happen in October of 2007? This is important to our understanding of when things happened.
I can't remember the process, but I thought it was a 3-year ban for first attempt at illegal entry, not a lifetime ban. If so, then the OP might be able to go forward with the K1 process if the entry was actually 4+ years before.
Hopefully, the bashing will cease and some more knowledgeable members will chime in.

Is your fiance the petitioner? If he/she is the petitioner then he/she needs to send a copy of every page of his/her passport to validate his/her US citizenship status.
If your fiance is the beneficiary then he/she is not required to send copy of her/his passport unless there is a stamp there that you would like to use as a proof that you two have been in a trip together.
But you both need to send passport size photos.
Make sure you have everything as stated in the guide when you submit your I129f.
    Good luck.

You'll need a co-sponsor. I'm in the same situation (US fiance at grad school), and my fiance's father offered to be mine. Apparently London only want to see the I-134 from the person who meets the income requirement, i.e in this case the co-sponsor, but I asked my fiance to complete one as well just in case. Good luck, and let me know how it goes, cos you're a few months ahead of us!
    p.s approved in 90 days - awesome!

this is the way i am doing it... return all the forms except DS-2001 and cover letter to the embassy (do not send in any documents no matter what the forms say), schedule and take the medical (when i called last week they had dates available almost straight away), then return DS-2001 and cover letter to the embassy telling them you are ready for interview... wait for the embassy to issue an interview date.
the embassy will not issue an interview date until they are in possession of all forms and your medical results

Although I agree that this topic has been covered... I think almost every topic has been covered a 1000 times.
My biggest challenge when I first started the process was finding the time to search for answers (I work a 45-50 hr/wk job, Extreme coupon, run my own Ebay business, and play competitive volleyball 5-6 days a week). You have to agree that when you do a search it will come back with a ton of results and rather than reading through them all it was always much quicker to just start my own post.
