My wife is traveling home to the Philippines in December and returning in January. She has been fully vaccinated and plans on getting the booster when available. My question is, does she need to get a COVID test prior to departure from the US and prior to returning back to the US?
Thank you in advance

Will an overstay affect my chances of getting a K-1 Visa?

Hi, my boyfriend (U.S. citizen) and I (Filipino citizen) are planning on getting married, but I have some concerns as I overstayed in the U.S. before. Technically, I only accrued 37 days of overstay. However, I was brought into the U.S. as an infant and lived there until I turned 18. Thirty-seven days after turning 18 I left the U.S and returned back to the Philippines. I know I'm still eligible to apply for a K-1 visa as you cannot accrue a legal presence in the U.S. if you're under 18, but will my presence in the U.S. as a minor be cause for denial? I have been out of the U.S. for nearly 10 years now and haven't been back to the U.S. since.

K2 at Expedited Interview

Hi Folks, has anyone experienced this scenario regarding the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines.
We have two K2 derivatives on our petition and they're included in the DS160. My Fianc had to go through the sputum protocol. She received the results on August 25th and we just now received our rescheduled expedited interview for October 14th.
In the letter from the embassy they state: No other applicants and no petitioners will be allowed entry.
Anyone have a similar experience? Did you bring the children?

I’m wondering if I should reconsider visa type

I m wondering if I should look into the possibility of considering the cr1 visa or whatever the type of visa it is for my fiancee in the Philippines and myself. Neither of us have ever been married or have any kids. We were engaged back in July of 2019 while I went to visit her in the country. I filed the k1 petition back in December of 2019. It was approved in June of 2020 and has been stuck at the nvc ever since. I have been reading up on k1 visa issuance at the Manila embassy and at the rate they are going, it could be several years before we get an interview and that s not acceptable and I m not planning to wait that long and I doubt she will either. So I m wondering if we should consider finding a way to go the other route and do the marriage visa instead and possibly even consider transferring the paperwork to another embassy somewhere else. I think the Manila embassy will keep screwing around and it doesn t appear that anyone or any law firm will do anything about it. I m hoping to get some advice from anyone who is also interested in doing this or has done it. But it really appears that the k1 visa process is going out the door.

They made it through Saint Luke's.

So we are in the home stretch now. Wife and stepdaughter just successfully made it through Saint Luke's relatively unscathed. Well, my wife survived her round of Russian roulette with Saint Luke's x-ray machine. The odds are similar. ~15% of Filipinos loose to that x-ray machine, and 16.66% of folks would loose a round of Russian roulette. Daughter got SIX shots plus a blood draw. Two shots in each arm and one shot in each leg. Poor girl, I don't think she knows there will be another round of shots in a few months in the US. The wife only got 4 shots.

Saint Luke's was the last major hurdle. The interview is October 5 and we feel prepared for that. Since we just only filed the I-130's March 8 of this year it's looking like just under 7 months total from start to finish.
