  1. I have searched the forum for an answer on this but I get conflicting answers. My wife's interview at the Manila embassy is scheduled for May 21, 2026. Today we received another email from IVU Manila requesting a clearance with an AKA of her previous married last name. Her current clearance was uploaded to CEAC and accepted during the NVC application. But there is no AKA for the previous last name. Is it a requirement that the AKA name be actually printed on the certificate? It's my understanding that the NBI does not list an AKA on the certificate. Now I'm concerned her current clearance might trigger a 221g.
  2. Everything is good to go. Nothing has changed her initially assigned interview appointment for May 21. All I needed to do was close the old case and start a new one. This time I selected option 01 for setting up OFC appointment ONLY since the interview was already scheduled by the Embassy. I had previously selected option 02 , which was a little confusing.
  3. That's what I was also thinking. I have contacted them to verify. As long as this didn't cancel the initial May 21 appointment then we are ok. Thanks for the answers.
  4. So does that mean she is still scheduled for the original appointment for May 21? If so then it's no problem. I'll just reschedule the OFC appointment.
  5. I already had an appointment scheduled for May 21. I must have selected option 2 because it gave me the option of selecting both OFC and IV. By mistake I selected 12 May for IV. Now I'm worried that I inadvertently canceled the first appointment of 21 May that the embassy scheduled for us.
  6. I need some clarification. Why does the online IV Scheduling for biometrics ask me to choose a date for the interview? We already have a date that was scheduled by the embassy. Do I enter that date in?? What am I missing?
  7. You are correct. In my haste I confused the two. The date I entered for the OFC is good, but I entered the wrong date for the IV Consular Appointment. Now I need to determine how to correct that.
  8. During scheduling for my wife's biometric appointment on the IV Scheduling site, I also had to schedule her CFO appointment. By mistake I entered a date before her interview. Will she still be able to attend, or how can I change this date? I thought we wouldn't be able to schedule that until after she got her VISA??
  9. Yes, it was accurate, even though 2 days left in the month.
  10. Finally, after almost 2 years from first application, we got our interview email today! Interview May 21, 2026! An encouraging word to those still waiting; keep strong and patient, and it will happen.
  11. Our case was DQ'd October 14, 2025 and is still at the NVC. The IV Scheduling Status tool states that the " NVC is currently scheduling documentarily complete cases with visas available from October 2025". We have yet to hear anything, and we've been expecting something any day now, all month. I'm curious what the timeline has been for others at this stage of the process. If we don't get a notice for an interview by the end of the month should I contact the NVC for status on our case? Should I wait into April, even though they might start working on cases DQ'd in November? I've been marking time concerning a lot of decisions until I get the interview notice.
  12. Do you know what the expiration would be on that FBI check? What is the oldest they would accept? I got one October 2025. Our case is at the NVC and we could get a interview notice anytime this month. I believe that might put the interview approx May 2026 sometime. So the FBI History Check would be 7 months old.
  13. Congratulations. Hope all goes well for you. We were DQ'd in October so we expect an interview notice anytime now.
  14. My wife's case was NVC DQ'd 10/25, and according to other timelines I've followed, and the CEAC Scheduling Status, we could get a Manila embassy interview notice sometime this month. That could put our interview date possibly in April. Should I upload a new I-864 and I-864A (my sister, who lives in the same house), with 2024 tax info to CEAC? Can she bring updated financial info to the interview? Our financial situations have not changed substantially from last year to make much difference.
  15. I just received a notice from the NVC stating, "The request for an Affidavit of Support fee exemption has been DENIED." I paid the online fee for my I-864, and there was no fee for my sister's I-864A, as she is a household member helping with support. I did not request any kind of fee exemption. I don't understand what this is about, or how I am to respond. Has anyone else ever received a similar message?
