Need some clarification from anyone who has completed the ROM at the San Francisco consulate for Utah Zoom Marriage. Is the affidavit of explanation required? My wife has tried to get an affidavit from the lawyers office who will be her notary and they will not provide unless we are both at the law office together. However they will notarize her ROM application without me being present. Any help would be very much appreciated.

After waiting over two years, my fiance finally was able to get her visa interview. She was given a letter requesting more information in regards to financial documents. I submitted tax transcripts from the last 3 years which were well above the necessary thresholds. In addition, I have sufficient assets in multiple accounts that should have also been sufficient. I also submitted an I-134 affidavit of support. I'm not sure what else they are wanting from me. I saw there is an inquiry form on the embassy's website, but the response time seems to be almost a month. My heart sank completely that she wasn't approved despite the documents. I'm a full time investor, so I'm self-employed. Does anyone have any ideas on what documents they could need? Is there anyway to contact someone at the embassy who could give me direction? The 221g she received just stated "Proof of your fiance's income in his current job." Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm a US citizen, and as such, I am culturally used to a certain right to privacy. The US Supreme Court has ruled over and over that we have a right to Privacy. Some people use social media conversations as "evidence" for the Embassy interview, but it is my understanding that this is not required, although it seems to be more required for fiance visas. We're already married, not doing a fiance visa, so I'm trying to tell my wife that our social media conversations are not actually any of their business. Furthermore, we don't even have them going back to the start of the relationship. I was trying to quit facebook at some point so i deleted my account. Facebook is an evil time waster. Turns out it is impossible to function in the Philippines without Facebook, even government agencies expect you to use it. We might have some old Skype conversations, not sure how far back. Our original conversation was on dateinasia dot com, and since my wife deleted her account there, there is no way we can prove that, as when she deleted her account, our conversation disappeared from my account. So I'm just here to ask, should we be worried about providing social media conversations for her interview, or is this not something to worry about? We have a lot of pictures going back 5 years, arranged with date stamps, and I have airline tickets to show that I visited the Philippines 5 times to see her. And the records of remittances since we we got married. I think that should be enough? Thank you.

During the interview my wife was ask a question about three years or five, I assume this was about question one on the N-400 but my was not expecting this and was confused.* I had filled out the N-400 and had answered three years, married. We had issues with travel as we were stuck in Philippines for 10 months due to cv19 lock down. Based on the N-652 we received I'm guessing the interviewer had my wife change question 1 to A. a lawful citizen for five years. My question is this normal procedure to make changes at the interview? I hope it will be ok for me to write interviewer and inquire about what was changed. *My wife speaks good english however she was stressed by this and got confused. Thank you for your time

Hey everyone! i started to compare others around my date for the AOS. Seems like 10-13 days is pretty common to at least get email notifications. Many also used a card to pay. I have signature required which was April 27. I still have no NOA notifications, or a check withdrawn from my bank. I'm starting to worry something is wrong or was misplaced as many others seem to breeze right through this. anyone else (in the 2022 file dates) over 14 days with checks being cashed? Thanks!
