  1. That is NOT an option if you are trying to avoid going to their office. You still need to go to the local office to show documentation.
  2. Sorry, forgot that I was no longer in the ROC forum.
  3. I was hoping to hear this opinion. I just know my wife is a little nervous that her SS card might look a little outdated. But, she would need to take a day off from work to get it removed at our local SSA office. And, she has no PTO due to Covid and other absences. I'm thinking as long as she has her SSN and 10 yr GC, any employment questions shouldn't cause her any problems with keeping or looking for a new job.
  4. 10 yr GC holder, finally. Should my wife update her SS Card to remove the "Valid for work only" restriction? Does it make a difference
  5. We will start the online application this week after getting approved for 10yr GC. Just received the cards in todays mail. I will do the paperwork and apps for my wife and 2 stepsons as I have the time due to hip replacement surgery. My youngest stepson, 19, just completed his basic and advanced training for the National Guard. I'm very proud of his achievements, BTW. Main question is this: Should we file each application at the same time? Reason I ask is my stepson said the Army can expedite the procfess for him, and him alone. Should I just file for wife and older stepson and let the Military handle my youngests' application? Any advice for people in similar situations would be appreciated. Thanks.
  6. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/785258-the-end-of-the-agony/ Hi, Ann. In case you are still curious, here is my experience on 6/15/22. Good luck!
  7. Wife and I had our ROC interview earlier today in Newark, NJ. We originally filed back on 11/1/2019. Almost 32 full months. I am ecstatic to report that, after checking receipt # online, we were approved! Our agent was no-nonsense but pleasant. Interview took about 15 mins. I was worried we were a bit thin on evidence but he only took about 15 pages of the many we brought. He mostly asked me, the petitioner, the questions, which my wife and I both thought was kinda funny. At the end, he and my wife talked about the Philippines ( he was also Filipino ) and going back home. My wife really is charming and has such a beautiful smile, it is hard not to be taken by her. He said he will review further and we should hear from him in a few weeks but 90 mins later, we saw those beautiful words "Your card is being produced" on the screen. I wish all of those still waiting the best as we all know how excruciating that is. And, thank you so much for everyone on here for helping us to navigate the immigration terrain; it really made a huge difference in the process. All our best to you all!
  8. We finally have our date for ROC interview after filing in Nov '19. My wife and stepsons came here on Fiancee visa and K-1 visa in Nov, 2016. Stepsons are now 22 and 19. My wife asked me if the sons go with us to interview and, frankly, I just assumed they do not. But, now, I'm not sure. One of her friends had her young adult daughter accompanying them to ROC interview in NYS. We are getting our interview in Newark, NJ. Is there a policy on this? Thanks for all replies.
