Hi. You're correct, we have two cases running concurrent. The son's case was DQ about two weeks afterwards since they asked about my US residence (since I live in the Philippines). My wife's case went right through without any additional asks. I'm guessing they go from my wife's DQ date though? Or are there two separate interviews, two separate medical exams, two separate biometrics, etc? The son is turning 14 in a few weeks.

Question, I started the IR1 process in November 2024. I am also DC and waiting for an appointment to be scheduled from the NVC. I've read that your original filing date determines who gets scheduled 1st. Since Apple changed categories, could that be his extreme delay? That would mean I'd have my interview 1st. Or does it go by the DQ date? If so, he was Oct 2025 (or possibly June 2025) and I was Jan 2026. So he would clearly go first in that instance. This is all confusing because I've also read that there are no backlog delays for the IR1 category, we go as we're DQ and a slot becomes available.

Hi friends! First post here and I was delighted to see something like this site actually existed. Quick question. I was documentarily qualified for my IR1 petition (wife & her son) in January 2026. The case is waiting for an interview slot in Manila, Philippines. We got the NBI clearance and foreign work clearances in January. 1) Is there anything I should be doing now? 2) Is there any way to estimate a wait time?
