Hello, Im a USA citizen. Living in the states for a little over 8 years. I am pregnant with my first baby and I will be due end of this year. I will get my 74yo mom tourist visa. She is a senior citizen. She is in the Philippines. I would like her to be here in the states with me when I deliver my baby. Does anyone here applied recently for tourist visa for parents? Do they still need a medical and interview? Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.

Hi everyone, I've been reading several (horror) stories about PH immigration offloading or holding up Philippine passport holders unreasonably at the airport to the point that they miss their flights. I'm currently visiting my family here in the Philippines for the first time since I got my conditional US permanent residency (green card) and I'm a bit anxious dealing with PH immigration when I return to the US especially since I'm a female traveling alone. (Unfortunately my partner wasn't able to join me for this trip because of work commitments.) Would anyone here who has/had a conditional green card and traveled to the Philippines before be able to share their experience with PH immigration when you returned to the US? What was your experience like? May I know what questions and documents the PH immigration officer asked you? I was hoping to prepare as best as I could before my flight back to the US. Thank you so much!

My wife's I-130 has been approved and now waiting for NVC. In the meantime I am pre-filling the DS-230 in preparation of the DS-260 coming soon. 21a. Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will accompany you to the United States now. I understand that my name doesn't need to be there because I am the sponsor, but does my son need to be listed? He was born in the Philippines and has not been out of the country yet, however he is already a US Citizen with CRBA and Passport. I will be going there to accompany them on the flight to the United States. (Hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question)

I864 Income Documentation Question For NVC |

Hey folks, I'm filling out the I-864, preparing for the NVC stage, and in part 6, section 24a-c, I am evidently required to list the adjusted gross income from my three most recent tax years, even though I am submitting only the tax transcript for my most recent tax year. Short backstory: Following 8 years in the Marine Corps, I worked as a sex offender agent for 18 years before separating from service early and going back to school in 2017. I eventually obtained an advanced degree in clinical psychology, and I am now a nationally board certified psychotherapist. I graduated in 2020. While doing a year's worth of paid and unpaid internships, my income in 2020 was only $4,691. (That last year, following my separation to do my internships, I was living primarily off my one-time lump sum payments from my pension and deferred comp. So, my 2019 tax return shows a huge income, which is inflated by the payouts.) In 2021, my adjusted gross income jumped up to over $50,000. And in 2022, it's nearly double that between my work at the public clinic and my own private practice. I know it's generally indicated NVC doesn't care about past income provided your current income documentarily well exceeds income minimums. I'm wondering, however, if to be proactive, I should write a short memorandum explaining my income disparity between 2020 and now....? Any advice from experienced VJ folks is appreciated. Thanks, all. Jason
