    Indeed. Notaries can only perform marriages in Florida, Maine, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Montana. And even then, notaries cannot marry couples who are from another state and can’t leave their state to perform a wedding. Source: Am notary.

    Anyone else receiving their card? Informed Delivery says mine should arrive tomorrow. There's been a lot of movement in the November 2022 filers receipt block these past couple of weeks!

    I got an update last night that the card had been mailed (dated Feb 1st even though it was still Jan 31st, but ... whatever). Haven't yet seen any update that it's with USPS or what the tracking number is, but it should happen soon. I expect it'll arrive early next week. EDIT: I can now see the tracking number in Informed Delivery! Interesting. This go 'round for me also took longer than AOS did (8 days from "Approved" to "Mailed" vs 3 for AOS).

    April 1st is the beginning of the fiscal year for many companies and governments. I suspect that's the reason for the date.

    My ROC changed to "Card is being produced" on Jan 22nd (last Monday) and "Approved" on Jan 23rd. My status hasn't yet updated with the mailing details, but among those who were approved at the same time, neither has anyone else's (yes, I've been checking). They're probably doing them in batches and I expect to hear something by the end of the week, if AOS was any indication. As others have said, with your expired GC and the extension letter, you're fine. I know you're excited to get the new card - I am too! - but just chill, it'll happen soon.

    They've been mostly dead (yes, that was a Princess Bride reference) in Canada for roughly 20 years now. Hardly anyone accepts them, and the government sure doesn't take them for passport payments or other official services. I'm still gobsmacked that I was able to buy my current vehicle here in 'Murica with a personal check!

    Since I applied for EAD/AP as part of AOS, no, I didn't pay extra for it on top of the regular I-485 fee. Still annoying, but infinitely less so than what looks to be the future billing scheme.

    My EAD/AP took over 9 months to be processed, and finally showed up a week before my green card did. 🙄 Such a waste of effort ... thank goodness I didn't pay extra. If they expect people to fork out $$$ for EAD/AP now, they darn well better guarantee that they'll be processed within a matter of weeks.

    Looks like I skipped "Approved" and went straight to "Card is Being Produced". 😁 Another shout out to https://www.casestatusext.com/, there's been a lot of movement in the Nov-Dec 2022 block lately.

    To clarify: a Colorado self-solemnization requires that BOTH PARTIES BE PRESENT. An officiant or witnesses need not be. Canadian immigration requires the physical presence of the couple at the marriage, not of an officiant. See the current regulations here.
