My husband does not even own a computer nor could he turn one on if he had one or I would LOVE to use voip!

stiphonecard.com has been my friend. The worldwide student calling card on the front page gives me 3H28 mins for $20. Best I've found yet.

Even that we talk daily and that is a big expense.....so far only made one trip to see him and if we make a speedy time through NVC it will only be that one. The biggest expense (has been my husband running up a mechanic bill over there.....and guess who had to bail him out? He owes me BIG when he gets here!!!!!

Yes, I do hate those unplanned expenses.

Computer access is not always an option and cheap calling cards are NEVER cheap to Sierra Leone.

Result : Thousands of $$$$$ in phone bills.

DNA expense : $ 1500.

Plane tickets have been the biggest expense by far. The USCIS' ever rising fees, for slower and slower service, are the most annoying though.

If illegal immigrants end up getting their amnesty, I'd really appreciate a refund of my fees!

The costs for visiting Ghana are the highest for me. The plane ticket alone is about $1000.

if you know how to work the website- I think India is included- calls are for free from user to user( I think India includes landlines only)- but listen- 300 min' for free a month is going to save you a lot!!

the turms are as follows:

you have to be registered with your land line, your spouse has to be registered on his/her land line(or cell- to the US it is free to both). then you need to pay like 5$ on your account and 5$ on his/her account and then both of you get 300-500 min' for free between the registered phones a month!!- every month new 300-500 new free min'- plus their rates are good- but free is free- and you might as well take it...

me and my love did it recently after a friend told me about it- and it saves me money- our callingcard for like 500 min' would cost me 20$-25$ and now I get it for free...

Don't take what I say for fact- before you register- check the add on the left hand side- that sais- calls between jajah users for free-

there are so many services today- do a little research and you'll end up saving most of your money!!

1. Lawyers fees -They were useless and got threatened with Legal action after criticizing and naming them on this site.

2. USCIS fees

3. Actual moving costs.

4. trips to london for medical and interview.

AOS was fairly painless, except not being able to work, but i done it all myself as I was more confident at that point.

My biggest expense? Plane tickets. Coming in a close second - sanity.

We didnt do too badly on phone bills. Used IDT's global calling cards. Pretty decent deal.

Man, i look at some of these other posts, and my expenses seem petty!!! I've been bitching and complaining about my $800. flight to Montreal for my interview, but I won't complain anymore.. LOL... I'm the same as everyone else. Phone bills, gas money travelling back and forth, USCIS fee's, everything I had to get done to send in the applications. In the last 18 months, since we filed the I-130, its cost me about $3000. alone.

For us it's mainly plane tickets, they cost $1200 a time. Add to that UCISs fees and the fee we have to look forward to when we adjust status... I'm just so glad that we Skype each other, I couldn't imagine the bill otherwise
