There is when she forgets what she's trying to say, sigh man.

Si, man.

Gracias, man.

Well, we weren't going to, but then we told ex-Mrs.-T-B. & Mini-B. to come before sunset, see man.

Mini-B. is disappointed and rates the color only Many on a 1-to-Many scale, sigh man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. thinks we're an idiot, si man.

She raised several fair points regarding Mini-B., resale value, and other arenas, si man.

She said she's not returning to this casa for any reason until color is changed, sigh man.

We think that, to keep the peace and also mollify the HOA, we should repaint, $igh man.

We have a plan to get the HOA to fund part or all of it, think we man.

HOAs are terrible and one should never move to a place that has one. Might be good to get a general consensus from Ex-Mrs and Mini on what color they think the place should be?

Thrilling Sunday report, see man:

We awoke before alarm, sigh man.

We had a mental plan for the day, productivity man.

We had no plans to leave the casa, ideal Sunday man.

Breakfast/lunch was 2 ham-&-cheese sandwiches, ingest we man.

We warshered our one LL earlier than usual, prompt we man.c

We siesta'd during the warshering process, zzz we man.

However, when we hit the dryer Start button, nothing happened, :girlwerewolf2xn:  man.

We phoned Mini-B. to see if ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s dryer was in use, ex-Mrs.-T-B. attending a class man.

Mini-B. thought that it wasn't, irritated wee man because we interrupted his game man.

We took our warshered stuff to ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s casa, so much for not leaving casa man.

Unfolded stuff was inside dryer, why were we surprised man.

About Many (2+1 or 2+2) nearby baskets were already filled, why were we surprised man.

We rousted Mini-B. to find or clear a basket, irritatedly cooperative wee man man.

We removed dryer contents and inserted ours, bake we man.

We then went to supermarket, critical shortage of Powerade Zero grape for we man man.

Place was mobbed on a Sunday afternoon, :ranting: and this is why we never go then man.

Of course, the only sold-out Powerade flavor was ours, :ranting:  we man.

We got Gatorade Zero grape instead, inferior and overpriced man.  :ranting:

We then retrieved an Rx for Uncle T-B., in great need senior he man man.

We returned to casa to fridge our Gatorade, fridge we man.

We returned to de-bake our LL, DeBakey of LLs we man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. was back, tired-but-upbeat ex-she man man.

Mini-miu was out in back yard, prowling like a little orange lion man.

We folded our LL on living-room couch, not our preference man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. asked if we wanted din-din, just about already prepared man.

She began up-warming it and stinking up the casa, perfect for a newly done LL man.

Din-din was spaghetti + meatballs + assorted green/wax beans + baby carrots, typical of ex-she man man.

We confirmed that no cilantro was involved, BIG surprise so ingest we man.

We then left with our LL after exhorting them to come to our casa before sundown, see post above man.

Nothing that we had planned got done, hosed man.

Nothing of Mama T-B.'s that we had planned got done, hosed man.

We not only now have revised HOA prep but also dryer-hunting, :ranting:  and :girlwerewolf2xn:  man.

No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man.

We are trying in vain to embed Mini-B. in time, vain we man.

Monday includes everything above and probably more, hosed day already man.

And that was/is our thrilling Sunday, report we man.

Well as someone that has found the dryer broken every few years, my husband has always been able to fix them. If you can look up your make and model and some googling will get you the right idea of what's gone wrong. There will be videos online of how to access the insides. You might also need to do some testing with a multimeter. There's limited amount of parts inside, so when it does break you don't have to always replace it unlike a washer. If it won't turn on at all start with:

check the circuit breaker, it seems dumb but you never know. also check the outlet by plugging another item in and seeing if it runs.

clean that dryer out completely (the hose, the vent flue, the back panel, the floor around it). when it's full of crud in there, it'll overheat and shut off for your protection.

a thermal fuse is gone or the start switch (if you hear a hum but nothing is happening it is not the start switch), could also be the motor.

There's only one or two parts that at cost might just be worth purchasing a new unit entirely. We've always gotten OEM parts for ours but so far each repair hasn't been too costly and about an hour of work. Always get new hoses for the new dryer if you decide to replace it.

We fixed our washer.  It was a $12 water inlet valve.  I was so relieved it was a $12 fix and easily done by us!

I'm with @Ontarkie - new appliances seem to suck!

We had our microwave go out 2 weekends ago (the "old" one was only about 18mo old!) and the dishwasher (only about 4 years old) go out last weekend.  The dishwasher was repairable - we replaced the pump unit.  Savings vs buying the same unit new: $1100.  The microwave - not fixable - seems to be the magnetron.  At least we got the replacement on sale.  Still though - appliances just aren't what they used to be.

I have a friend contemplating replacing his refrigerator over the ice maker.  I told him dude, just don't even bother with the refrigerator ice maker.  They all seem to be junk.  Just buy a countertop unit and if it goes sideways, it's less of a drama to replace.  He won't listen.  He's male ;).

I haven't bothered trying to get the microwaves fixed. I think we have gone through at least 3 since living here and that's about 18 years. Of course the one I brought with us when we moved lasted the longest.

I know so many who won't listen. They all say the same thing. Well the reviews are all good. Of course they are everyone posts a few weeks to a few months after they get the appliance. I loved my French door until I found out it was literately killing me. Now I have a side by side it keeps temps but I'm not in love with it. Not as spacious and pretty.

For your friend at least steer him away from LG and Samsung and keep the ice maker where it belongs-In the freezer section.

My Maytag died (10 year warranty) died after 4 years / repairman said to buy new but Adil fixed it with $11 part that was right under the agititor.

Been in this house since 2004 and are just replacing items now but i pull all out from the hall once a month and clean dust . every 3rd month i take the back off and vacuum all the dust from  around motors ,   Refigerator lasted 21 years ,  stove  22 / disher died first at 18 years    and i totally agree with fridge ice makers-they aren't worth it /my son bought a table top model as he uses the most ice.   i hope my new applicance last as long as long as i do

I usually try to break them one at a time.  LOL

Last one I broke was several years ago.  I was walking the dog and I knew better than to go to one corner of the driveway that was super slick, but the dog "made me" go there.  Fell and heard the snap.  After a while the dog and I both crawled to the house.  It was my right leg which made driving impossible.  I was totally dependent on my wife for transportation, and that was scary!

Oh man that is terrible. How on earth did you finish decorating :P

But really how did yo manage to break both?

The two ladders I jerry rigged were sketchy and gave up with me up there, I jumped thinking I’d land in the bushes (mainly trying to save my cranium), instead I landed on a concrete ledge from about 25 feet and both my legs immediately resigned. I work from home, so no time off… just broken legs, a laptop, and excellent medications keeping morale "high".
