We got an RFE for form i-864 is there any way to know if we made a mistake on the form or they simply lost it? Letter we got is extremely vague. I tried uploading it on here but they said that the file size exceeded. It basically says please fill out i-864, and send supporting documents it's very vague and doesn't say anything specific, anyone else got this or anyone else has any good insight?

We basically filled out adjustment of status and send them form i-864 we thought that we provided all the required supporting documents as well. They requested with a very vague rfe letter to fill out the form have it signed and send the supporting documents. Is there any way to know if we made a mistake when filling it out or if they simply just lost the entire form.

Take a deep breath. This is an upsetting situation, we understand, but panicking is not helpful.
Usually, the RFE specifies exactly what you need to do. We can help you decipher the RFE

I suspect you took a picture of the RFE and the file size is too big. Try to take a picture at a lower resolution. Youtube has a lot of tutorials to explain how to reduce the file size of the pictures you take.
Don't forget to edit out any personal identifying information.

Also, please fill in your timeline (click here) as it currently says J1 and you are in a AOS process. People will be more willing to help if you do.

Hey there,

I am replying here on the RFE you posted in the other topic. Please reply here.
It looks like you did not submit all pages of the I-864 and all its accompanying documents and/or there were mistakes and/or omissions on the I-864 .

Visajourney recommends you create an exact photocopy of what you sent to USCIS for reference. If you did that, this can be very helpful in figuring out the issue.
Follow the letter line by line, step by step:
-Did you send in ALL pages of the I-864 and were ALL pages properly filled in? Was the I-864 of the latest edition date?
-Did your sponsor (US citizen fiance) have an income that meets 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline?

etcetera, etcetera.
Triple check everything.

If you do not have a copy, start again by filling in an I-864 and use the RFE letter as guidance. Triple check everything.

Reading is what? Fun-da-men-tal!

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I am the applicant that my wife is the petitioner she changed her name after marriage to my last name and now we got an order fee that the person that is my sponsor is not the same as I guess the person that they're expecting. Anyone ever get this kind of rfe, I send them tons of documents I can't believe they would make this obvious error.

Well that is unusual. The marriage certificate is the proof for the name change.  Submit it again and a note saying your wife took your last name and what her previous last name was.

I don't remember the forms but was there a spot for her other names used?

In addition to the marriage certificate, has your wife updated her information with the SSA to reflect her new last name?

Unfortunately the I864 does not provide an area in Part 2 for other names used by the sponsor.  Have your spouse use Part 11, and reference Page 1, Part 2, Item 1, and have her explain her name change after marriage.  She should probably do the name change with the SSA if she hasn’t done that already.

Good Luck!
