Hi my N400 interview was scheduled for 19th May. Today I received a status update that it has been canceled/descheduled. The online letter says this "This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 09:15AM for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. We will advise you of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview appointment information, under separate notice. If you have any questions or comments regarding this notice or the status of your case, please contact the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Contact Center toll free at 1-800-375-5283 (TTY 1-800-767-1833"

 

Should I call or wait? Is it a bad thing? I am so scared right now because of political situations. Please advise!

 

Adjustment from F1 status

01/18/2017  Mailed package I-130, I 485 AND I-765

Day 1 : 01/20/2017-USCIS received package

Day 6 : 01/26/2017-received NOA1 through text

Day 13 : 02/1/2017-received N0A1 hard copy

Day 15 : 02/4/2017-received Biometric Appointment

Day 28: 02/17/2017-did Biometric Appointment

Day 35: 02/24/2017-i485 case status changes to ready to be scheduled for an interview

Day 47: 03/08/2017- status changes to Interview scheduled on 13th april

Day 49 03/10/2017- received interview letter for 13th April

Day 83 04/13/2017- approved...case shows new card is being produced

Day 88 04/17/2017 received  hard copy of approval notices for I-485 and I-130 

Day 88 04/17/2017 Online status showed New card was mailed

Day 91 04/20/2017 Received Green card in mail !!! Total 3 months

Does the letter mean nothing to worry about and just wait for a rescheduled date? Sorry I am paranoid

Could be any reason for a re-schedule.  Maybe the IO your case was assigned to went out on sick leave unexpectedly.  All you can do is wait until they reschedule, but this is a fairly common situation.

Dont read anything into it. Take it for face value: if there were any issues, they would let you know.

Easier said than done, but just relax and wait for a reschedule.

Joining the others who say it is an unfortunate event, but not something to worry about.  This happens from time to time.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
