What really drives the green meanies nuts is that, when it comes to American-made cars, the top four slots are occupied by cars manufactured by the company owned by the man every sinister-side activist loves to hate … Tesla 😎

Interesting analysis I do not disagree with the results.  I wonder why they only include US and Canada part origin when the US has free trade agreements with more countries than just Canada.

The AMI index doesn’t count Canada as US content, but the basic reporting data does, per the American Automobile Labeling Act. 
 

What is interesting to note is that not a single mainstream US manufacturer, out of Ford, GM, or Chrysler (even if they are part of Stellantis now) has a single vehicle featuring in the top ten.

 

Just think of the added carbon footprint to bring those millions of motors up from Mexico and the like. 🤢

I am just basing it on the rules for the EV tax break.  That allows for origin from any free trade country.  I do agree the Big 3? do not show up on the list which is interesting given the headquarter locations of at least two of them.  One thing I tend to look at is where do the profits end up, where is the engineering conducted etc.  The Big 3? may still be left out of the Top 10, but it is an interesting factor to consider.
