Thrilling Tuesday-on-Wednesday report, see man:

Nothing about colonoscopies or wide excisions here, no man.

We took HSM and actually zzz'd soundly until the phone rang at Many -- si man, Many -- a.m., groggy we man.

Mama T-B. said, "I have a crisis, si man," si man.

She had rung her "help" bracelet for 1 hour + half-of-half an hour with no response, unacceptable man.

She needed someone to move her bed 2 inches from the wall so her outlet would work, bed-control plugged in man.

She knew when the noosers changed shifts and waited to give them some time, considerate senior she man man.

Still, no one came, no man.

Mama T-B. had only the switchboard number of this Resisted Living place, sigh man.

She called it and got nothing, no man.

We called it and got "Welcome to the auto-attendant, si man. If you know your party's extension, enter it now, si man.  Otherwise, press Many for a directory, si man," si man.

We pressed Many and it returned us to the original message, :ranting: man.

We texted the facility's boss, good dude man.

We apologized and explained, si man.

Director notified Med Tech immediately, si man.

Med Tech visited Mama T-B. & was a bit mad for having gotten into trouble, "helping other patients" he man man.

Mama T-B. was ultimately helped, si man.

However, our night was shortened and we never re-zzz'd, this absolutely cannot continue man.

We arose and ineffectively caffeinated ourself, not a good sign man.

We researched donation outlets that would accept furniture and climb stairs to do so, VERY few man.

One was Salvation Army, SA man.

We had 2 undonated bags from Monday, see Thrilling (?) Monday report man.

We took them to SA, not a short trip at all man.

We donated the bags and talked to those who knew about scheduling donation pickups, jawbone we man.

We were given a number to call to learn about backlogs/wait times, must call it man.

We were given a paper donation receipt, what a refreshing concept man.

We never got a call back from Monday's place that was supposed to e-mail us a receipt, :ranting: man.

Apparently only SA and our favorite donation place give paper receipts now, boo to technology man.

Made it to Mama T-B.'s old casa just in time for free lunch, goal of ours man.

We consumed salad, cabbage*, black-eyed peas, the driest small slab of chicken breast ever, and sugar-free chocolate ice cream, ingest we man.

*which amazingly did NOT gastrointestinalize us into misery, first time ever man

We then resumed out-clearing Mama T-B.'s #2 closet, green-lighted on that at least man.

Then a text from our latest NextDoor ad came in, desirous buyer man.

He ended up taking $Many00 of stuff, including stuff we'd considered unsellable man.

He promised to come back on Thursday, and his mother might want our old furniture, major boon if so man.

Mama T-B. found the sales amount impressive but pointed out $ loss if we go into August, not-wrong she man.

She again admonished us to "get moving," si and sigh and :girlwerewolf2xn: and :bonk: man.

While we were waiting for customer to show up, we dashed to Walgreens, dash we man.

We got 2 ready Rx's and our second shingles shot, ow ow Ow OW OW man.

Pharmacy tech shot so high in the arm that it was nearly in the AC joint, exaggerate not much we man.

This was even worse than the first dose, that one not fun either man.

But at least we can finally shut our doctor up, once recalcitrant now calcitrant we man.

In bad news, our hip is again just about as bad as it was before it got shot, sigh and HSM tonight man.

After the sale, we compiled Many donation bags, first item on Wednesday's agenda is delivery man.

A Craigslist scammer tried to get our Venmo log-in, block-&-report we man man.

Free din-din was carved ham, green beans, & mac/cheese, ingest we man.

We charmed a(nother) cute Bistro chica into extra portions, gastronomically savvy we man.

We have enough on Mama T-B.'s meal account for 2 free lunches, perfect man.

We are $1 short of another free din-din, :ranting: and :girlwerewolf2xn:  man.

Guess we'll have to buy colas or something, wa$te not want not man.

Mama T-B.'s complex received newspaper inserts, root through recycle bins we man.

There were Popeye's and Subway coupons, si and glee and whee man!

Returned to our casa and thoroughly ministered to demanding miu, service miu we man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. & Mini-B. returned from Ecu, exhausted ex-she man and wee man man.

We hope that ex-she man can help Mama T-B. locate/pick blouses on Wed., hope we man.

On Wed., we hope for more sales, oh well if not man.

Donation run first, donate we man.

We must empty Mama T-B.'s #1 closet and #1 bathroom, :girlwerewolf2xn:  man.

We must find time to see Mini-B., probably taller than we man now wee man man.

HSM and hopefully uninterrupted zzz overnight, hope/pray we man.

And that was/is our thrilling Tuesday, report we man.

I'm having my colonoscopy next week.  This will be my second one.  Of course I'm dreading the prep too.  Wife's first colonoscopy will be the week after mine.

Last week was our dermatology appointments.  The doctor says my wife has the best skin in town.  Of course she does, she never goes out in the sun, at least not without sunscreen and being covered head to toe.  She's even got a burkini (never even knew there was such a thing) for swimming in the Keys.  Dermatologist hit me 5 times with the liquid nitrogen, and cut two areas.  One area was OK, and the other was not...squamous cell carcinoma!

Next week will not be fun.  Tuesday is my pre-op appointment for the colonoscopy, Wednesday I have a large excision to remove what my be left of the squamous cell, and Friday is the colonoscopy.  Later in the month will be the blood draw and visit with my primary.  I'm hating August already.

My dad has had many surgeries for the skin cancers + the Mohs + skin transplants on multiple sites, so I sympathize how much of a pain and painful they are. They are probably going to want to do some more again, but he doesn't want to. Can't get him to use sunscreen either. Good luck to you!

We hate, and want to strangle the genius(es) who recommended, 2-stage prep, :ranting: man.

But good shepherding of Mr. Y ma'am through the process, si Y ma'am.

Ask the Procto if you can save your poo in order to fling it,  man.

At least it wasn't one of the even-worse kinds, si and sigh and sincere best wishes Bro G man.

LPoP and unread, no see we or anyone man.

Well the 2 stage does work better than the old Miralax prep, which can make all the difference in helping the doctor visually see things that could be missed otherwise. If they could just make it not taste like death, people would be encouraged to do it more.

Did you try the Habitat for Humanity?  Sometimes the Restores pick up.  Not positive about the stairs.  Potential second option for what's left.

Insurance won't pay for me to get my shingles shot for a couple of more years, despite the fact I've had shingles, the chance of recurrence is high and it was in my eye so the potential for blindness is real!

Ah, another problem I have started to have.  Caffeine is starting to give me heart palpitations.  I don't drink coffee during the week, but I do have a couple of cups each day Friday thru Sunday.  By Monday the ticker is going crazy.  The last two days I noticed it more than ever.  My wife checked my pulse and got very nervous when she noted that every fourth beat was "missing".  Guess that's just a result of PVC's but not having any dizziness or chest pains.  I will mention this to my Dr next month at my physical.

I'm really going to miss that morning jolt on the weekend.

I will always remember this guy in the waiting area when I did my colonoscopy. The nurse asked him how the prep went, and he said "Fine I guess. was something supposed to happen?" Alarmed, the nurse asked him if he had actually gone. "No.. was I supposed to?"

Turns out his wife had given him a cough medicine cup filled with the solution 2x and expect that to do something. He had no idea, he never read the instructions, nor did she apparently. My doctor was so amused, but of course had to cancel his procedure for the day.

It's a wonder I even found this thread. Apparently it's been a very long time since I was here. No point in trying to catch up, but I can let you know where I am at.  :D I only hope someone remembers me, although I can't say I'd be surprised if not.

And I am still here, right where I was the last time I posted.

VA appeal went from the Board of veterans appeals, to the Court of veterans appeals. The board agreed they messed up, and the case was sent back down to the board early this spring for a new decision. Back to standing in what seems to be a never ending queue.

Been an interesting year, kinda sorta. DX'd last year with wet macular degeneration, so I get injections in my eye on average about every month and a half. Woke up the last week of January in a ridiculous amount of  back pain. Couldn't think of a single thing I'd done to earn it, either. After a couple of weeks of waiting it out, gave in and saw the Doc.  Had xrays, an MRI. I didn't have to do anything to earn it, other than getting older. I have a compression fracture and a couple of bulging discs. And osteoporosis. Can't get into a specialist for that until December. The referral to PT was sent, but never arrived, so didn't do the time allotted until June. I really don't think it made a blind bit of difference.

Lost my little dog in May. She had a lot going on; Cushings, tracheal collapse, cognitive disorder, and others. We managed pretty well with meds, until she couldn't figure out the couple of steps at the back door, or the ramps I put in for her, where dinner was. Paced and wandered all night, just like people do when the sun goes down. Didn't seem to know me sometimes, just seemed to lose interest in everything. So, in spite of knowing I would miss her greatly here on my own, I made the decision to do the right thing by her, and call it a day. A month short of seventeen she was. I saved a couple of her  things, and the rest went to a local animal shelter.

So, I am free as a bird. I have been away on a couple of short weekend trips. Next month I am hitting the road for a month. Driving to Vancouver BC to visit with my son. Have a poke around here and there. In October, I am off to London. There is  a little group I went to Uni with still among the quick(ish), so we will have a small 50th reunion.  I want to see the commemorative  poppy display at the Tower of London before it ends in November. I am working under the assumption that I'd better do things whilst I am able.

After that, it's anyone's guess :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Thrilling Wednesday-on-Thursday report, see man:

HSM helped us zzz, but yet again we awoke long before alarm, :ranting: man.

We felt like garbage-warmed-over, gracias Shingrix man.

We popped daytime HSM, pop we man.

Fortunately, miu was undemanding and mellow, mellow miu man.

Made donation drop, drop we man.

In heavenly fashion, they wrote yesterday's date on the ticket, praised be the Great Sky-Chimp man.

Found more boxes at hardware store, go out for boxing we man.

Stopped at other donation place that didn't e-mail us a receipt, :girlwerewolf2xn:  man.

Helpful chica sneaked us an old paper receipt like they used to use, praised be the Great Sky-Chimp man.

We will copy this and record future donations on it, relief for we man man.

Reached Mama T-B.'s old casa in time for lunch, reach we man.

23 hours ago, TBoneTX said:

We have enough on Mama T-B.'s meal account for 2 free lunches, perfect man.

We are $1 short of another free din-din, :ranting: and :girlwerewolf2xn:  man.

We had a brainstorm, stormbrain we man.

It costs $Many ($2x2x2 +2+2) to carry lunch out, si man.

It costs $Many ($2x2x2 +2) to ingest in the dining room, $2 less man.

We consumed lunch in the dining room, $1 deficit to $1 overage man.

(Financially savvy and ingenious we man!  Financially, FINANCIALLY savvy and ingenious SAVVY AND INGENIOUS we man we man!)

Free lunch was baked catfish, beef noodle soup, wild rice, green beans, and sugar-free vanilla pudding, ingest-for-less we man.

We are highly self-impressed with our financial acumen, impressed-with-self we man.

Mama T-B. had been bugging us to question billed items and confirm when long-term care (LTC) benefits would start, aysheep senior she man man.

We caucused in person with cute young Business Managerette (BM) at new Resisted Living place, si man.

BM explained items on bill and asked others about things that she didn't know about, admit freely BM man.

BM phoned highly capable LTC outfit and resolved all questions within a couple of minutes, resolve BM & LTC man.

BM sent LTC outfit the one item outstanding, capable BM man.

We were impressed and very well-pleased with the entire process/outcome, pleased we man.

BM then went with us to caucus with Mama T-B., si man.

Mama T-B. didn't yell at us, someone else present man.

We think that Mama T-B. accepts what was said and done, si man.

We are also impressed with BM's investment of time and diplomacy in regard to Mama T-B., si man.

The entire process above took 2 hours, so much for vacating Mama T-B.'s unit man.

As soon as BM left, Mama T-B. admonished us for falling behind, :girlwerewolf2xn:  man.

As we walked out the door, we got exceptionally sleepy, Our Kingdom for a Siesta man.

However, we returned to Mama T-B.'s old casa, dedicated we man.

We changed our approach, si man.

We decided to concentrate on one room or area and not concerning ourself with item categories, si man.

In this way, we out-cleared all of Closet #2 and all but one kitchen cabinet, efficient we man.

We put pink stickers on each cabinet/drawer that had been cleared, remind ourself and formalize process we man.

We did all that we could, fading we man.

After compiling 2 donation bags and 1 of trash, we compiled Many (2+1) of hangers, all over the place man.

One bag was plastic ones to recycle, lousy plastic man.

One was plain wire, take to give to dry-cleaners man.

One was for pants, take to give to dry-cleaners man.

Floor is a lot cleaner now, easier to navigate and less mental stress man.

Free din-din was carved meatloaf (?), green beans, and mac/cheese, ingest we man.

CBJC (Cute Bistro Junior Chica) tried to make conversation with us, converse she man.

We were so dead from fatigue/fever that we didn't respond well at all, :bonk:  man.

Regardless, we have enough for Thursday's lunch and $1 left over, see if any side item costs that we man.

Finally up-wrapped the day, too little but at least some accomplishment man.

At the casa, encountered intense miu, Where's My Miu-Lunch and Where the Dickens Were You Daddy man.

Ministered to intense miu, ministerial we man.

Took shower, highly necessary man.

Shivered like an illegitimate male child upon exiting shower, sure sign of fever man.

Off-dried and got self into bed immediately, siesta we man.

Praise the Great Sky-Chimp that our phone was in another room, planned man.

During siesta, it rang twice and took a text, outsmart phone this time we man.

We pretty much zzz'd but had a feverish nightmare, dream weirdly we man.

We began shivering immediately after exiting bed, brrrrr man.

Took more HSM, interim till real stuff overnight man.

No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man.

Progress needed at Mama T-B.'s old casa, please man.

And that was/is our thrilling Wednesday, report we man.
