I entered on a tourist visa then filed for asylum with my parents, we got our EAD but no progress since may 2018. Then my father was attacked at his work in 2019 i think and that's when my parents file U-visa while included me as well and now reply for that as well. Now I am married to US citizen for past2 years and i wanna apply for marriage based green card. I am very good at documentation. I cant afford a lawyer so i need advice, do you think i should file by myself. Do you think It will raise flags that I applied for Asylum and U and now this which shows me desperate for citizenship.

U visa for being attacked? Play it till you get it is what I see here. Your parents aren't getting any U visa.

Expect scrutiny with your AOS. You should be fine though.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

My father was attached by a guy which resulted in almost loss of his eyes. He had to go under multiple surgeries for the injuries cause. U-Visa is granted to those who have suffered a criminal activity on US grounds.

It will take years for you to get citizenship even from marriage. You need greencard first. And to answer ur question, yes it might or will raised questions from USCIS ( not me ). In the eye of USCIS it might look like u are greencard shopping. If you can’t afford a lawyer, how bout ur husband ? If he is going to petition for u, he need to have certain minimum set of income otherwise he will need joint sponsor. May I ask u why u haven’t filed yet since u said u are married 2 years ago ? As u know the asylum and U visa result will take forever, u might get better chance with marriage case. And if u really can’t afford lawyer try to reach out to legal clinic in ur area. Usually they might help if you really have low income

Absolutely.

This of course is not legal advice, and nobody can predict how difficult or easy your AOS will be, but from an outside perspective it does look like the ultimate goal was to get a green card one way or the other (asylum, U visa and now marriage).

If you can’t afford a lawyer, all you can do is prepare your AOS package very well, send enough evidence and hope for the best!

I know what a U visa is and your family isn't getting one.

There are many non-immigrants, F-1 students, B-2 visa holders who get attacked/ robbed/ kidnapped while in US? Does that give them a right to get a US GC? The answer is NO.

You guys are showing for any GC category in order to remain in US. It is evidently clear.
