Anyone know how long it takes for new Passport to show "In Progress"?

Submitted new application almost 2 weeks ago.  Still shows "Not Available".  I know they say it could be 2 weeks from application date to even show up in the system, but I am just curious if anyone has recent experience.

BTW, we did the expedited route.

I submitted My application on Sunday Jan 15th and on the 20th it showed application received, routine processing will take 8-11weeks. I checked My status yesterday and it shows that My passport has been mailed alongside My card, I did it with My Son who is renewing and a friend who naturalized on the same day with Me and We are all getting our passports next week barely after 3 weeks and I did routine processing. I remember someone posted here a couple of months ago saying that there was no need for expedite at this moment as it is pretty fast now to get the routine passport done.

It will depend on where your application was send to. I'm apply for expedite and it has "In Process" from 1/27.

We submitted it (expedited route) on Friday 2/3 (USPS processing facility in Southern California) and it shows it was received and is "in process" as of Wed 2/8.  Locator is 79 (Houston).

Usually it takes 3 to 5 days from

my experience to show in progress. The not available message usually pop up to me on the weekends i figure they were probably updating their system or when i inputed the wrong information. Try doing your search from different devices.

I tried that.  My check was cashed a week ago, but I still get the Status Unavailable .

I hope you have seen a better update status by now.

I applied passport for myself and my minor child at USPS (walk-in) recently as well.

1/31 Applied at USPS

2/6 Application received according to the status website and "In process"  since then.

Per the Passport Status page, there was a system issue which caused some passports submitted between Feb 6-Feb 13 to show "Not Available".  As of a few days ago, wife's status is now "In Process".  I'm just happy that her Naturalization Certificate wasn't lost.

No.  Status is still "In Process".  According to a FB group I found, a LOT of people are experiencing issues and delays.

Update:  Wife's Passport status changed to "Shipped" yesterday.  Express Mail package out for delivery today......😃

So February 4 to March 21 or 45 days or 7 weeks.

 

Was this standard or expedited processing?

Feb 6 submission to March 20 shipping....6 weeks

They say 5-7 weeks is the standard for expedited service.
