it is different for everyone. Right now it is taking almost 33 months for USCIS to process VAWA. But my experience is that it is taking around 26 to 30 months.

Thank you for clarifying. I filed my application on Nov 2021. I received my first prima facie about four months after sending my i-360 application (no i-765, no i-485). Approximately Feb 2022. Then, on Feb 2023, I received another prima facie that was extended to July 2023. So that means by summer it will have been about 30 months.

Logically it would seem that if you are granted Prima Facie, you would be approved for an expedited EAD without any additional evidence.

 

Is that everyone's experience?

 

My thought experiment: USCIS says you can stay in the US while your I-360 processes (30 months) and here is gov't funded healthcare, tuition, and a driver's license, but no cash and you are not allowed to work? That doesn't make sense. Or, maybe my logical/factual flaw is that USCIS is not saying you can stay in the US? Or, maybe these are simply totally different departments (they are) and the expedite EAD has specific rules that must be followed no matter the requestor. That makes the most sense. Just thinkin' out loud. Middle of the night. Have PF waiting on biometrics, then will request expedite of EAD.

As you can read in previous posts. PF has nothing to do with any petition you have filed in approval or expedited.  You can still be approved for PF and your VAWA case is denied. 
 

You can try to request expedited EAD if you have a job offer and they will rescind the offer without your work authorization.

I am not sure if you can renew i785 based on c09 since you already have approved vawa. But confirm with others

You need to submit i785 to vermont service center if renewing through c09. Just attach your pending i485 form receipt

approximately 20 to 24 months. in case of RFE, it can take longer. I see members who are waiting for more than 3 years

your 30 months would be summer 2024.

I know the I360 immigration officer needs to ignore all false claims by the abuser but what if the abuser contacts the IO that is interviewing you for the GC and feeds him/her lies? I know they do not have as much training as the I360 officer on vawa, will they also know they cannot listen to anything the abuser says to jeopardize the GC applicant? When you go to interview, your VAWA has already been approved. During questioning, the officer will ask you questions about your I-485.

There is no connection between prima facie and expediting EAD.

To work the person must submit form I-485 and I765.I suggest you to read the previous 15 threads, and you will get an idea about the VAWA Law.
