Informally separated. Can I still file for naturalizattion

Hi beautiful people. I know this may sound absurd but my husband and I have been informally separated and did not get a divorce. We have no ties together and have been living separately for three years. Can I still file for naturalization and be approved? Please, anyone, share your experience. Thank you.. 

Side note: my husband is aware that I need to file... and will sign any document if he needs to.  He has hope of us getting back together but thats a big no no.. S

Hi, Onatarkie. Thank you for replying. Under the 5 year rule, will i still have to proof ties of us living together because I do not have anything. I got my permanent status in October 2018, and we have lived separately since April 2019. Thanks again.

We submitted my wife's N-400 based on the 5 year rule this morning.  Although she had to list my address, we didn't have to provide any bona fide marriage evidence.  In fact, it was an easy & simple process.  The hardest part was compiling our address history and finding the dates of her travel outside the US.

Ikr, I wish they would ask just the month and year, but they are asking for the specific date of moving or traveling out side of the country. 

Question, to qualify to file under the 5 year rule, is it 5 years when you first get a green card or 5 years after lifting conditions? I first got my conditional card in October 2015, got my conditioned removed in October 2018

5 years from receiving your first Green Card.  I assume you filed to remove conditions  We filed my wife's removal of conditions back in March of 2019......still waiting for the interview.  My wife received her conditional GC in June of 2017.

It is kind of hit or miss. Many under the 5 year rule have not been asked for anything. Others have been asked to provide proof. 

The thing is anytime you get immigration benefits from a USC spouse they can ask and they look at your entire file once more. 

It is always best to prepare to supply things just incase.

In 2018, did you get a 2 years or 10 years GC?

Yes. I've already removed my conditions. So it would be ok to go ahead and file for naturalization now; I got my conditional green card in 2015, and got my permanent green card in 2018. 

in 2018 I got my 10 years green card. I did the k-1 visa

Sounds like you are eligible to file under the 5 year rule.  Good luck.  I recommend filing online.

To be clear, I have been a lawful permanent resident when I got my conditional card in 2015? Because that is the only date that is on the card, they did not put the date that my condition was removed, which is 2018. Thanks again for all your help
