  1. Thank you! I found a copy of his birth certificate. I have evidence to prove we are no longer together and why. I hope this will be suffice. Thank you
  2. Thank you. Congratulations on your process of becoming a US citizen. I am filing under the five year rule; I am still married. I filed for divorce just two weeks before the pandemic started, and during the pandemic, the case was dismissed, I served my spouse but the letter was returned to me, He went MIA and not even his family he communicated with. He recently appeared but I do not want to have anything to do with him other than for him to sign the divorce papers but I still wanted to go ahead and apply for naturalization since i am eligible without him,

"You MUST BRING the following with you to the interview: • This letter. • Your Alien Registration Card ("green card"). • Any evidence of Selective Service Registration. • Your passport and/or any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States. • Those items noted below which are applicable to you: If applying for NATURALIZATION AS THE SPOUSE of a United States Citizen; • Your marriage certificate. • Proof of death or divorce for each prior marriage of yourself or spouse. • Your spouse's birth or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship. If applying for NATURALIZATION as a member of the United States Armed Forces;" I am applying under the five year rule without my husband. We are no longer together and I have no way to get a copy of his birth certificate

  5. Hi. If I am filing under the five year rule, do I still need a original copy of my spouse birth certificate to take to my naturalization interview?
  6. Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time out to write to me about your experience and how i can make my transition easier! I will let you know how everything goes
  7. Thank you so much. Congratulation to your wife! She did amazing! Even after the elections and elections of different representatives. They reused my biometric so i did not get a chance to get one of those books. I live far away from the office. I will use the resources on their website, youtube and anything else. I will prepare and do my best. Will update you guys after. oh.. Questions.. do you know of many people who took their oat the same day?
  8. Thanks. i agree as well. I believe will do pretty well. You know, I just get that nervous feelings hahahahaha. I was only seeking pointers for recommendation on what to use to study for the civic exam. I appreciate everyone input and shared experiences 🥰
  9. Hi everyone! I filed for naturalization under the 5 year rule, In August. Today I got an update that my interview is scheduled. Question, other than the list of items that the letter ask me to take to the interview, is there anything else you recommend taking, will they ask for any particular evidence? I am so nervous and do not know what to expect or how to study for the civic test Thank you.
  10. Thank you my dear. I truly appreciate everyone feed back. I was really good with this immigration process. But after my separation, I went to continue my education and I was so overwhelmed with my separation and struggling i did not follow up with my naturalization process
  11. Thank you. I will be very honest. It's all I can do and It's nothing but the truth. It was a crazy situation smh
  12. Hey!! Very helpful information. I will do the best I can. I don't know what evidence USCIS will ask for even though I am filing under the 5 year rule. I don't want to run into in problems.
  13. Hi. Thank you. I am researching way I can do it without him. I do have copies of the papers I filed in 2020 and I the letter I got from the court to serve him. I haven't looked at them since but I will time some time on my day off to review the documents so I can use them as evidence in my case
  14. Sigh! I hope this goes well for me. It's a case where problem started and I decided to leave, then he went MIA. I did file for a divorce, served him at his last known address but he was nowhere to be found. Then the pandemic started and the court dismissed the case. Recently he came back from wherever he was and think we can just get back together. I am completely over him and want a divorce but he dont want to get a divorce so I am moving a long with getting my citizenship
  15. Please be patient with me, I have another question.. When they are my marital status, do i put separated or married. We have not been together since 2019. I am still married but we are not legally separated since then
  16. Wow. I could've filed since 2020 if thats the case. It's never too late though
  17. To be clear, I have been a lawful permanent resident when I got my conditional card in 2015? Because that is the only date that is on the card, they did not put the date that my condition was removed, which is 2018. Thanks again for all your help
  18. Yes. I've already removed my conditions. So it would be ok to go ahead and file for naturalization now; I got my conditional green card in 2015, and got my permanent green card in 2018. in 2018 I got my 10 years green card. I did the k-1 visa
  19. Wishing you both the best as she make her way to becoming and American citizen 😃 Ikr, I wish they would ask just the month and year, but they are asking for the specific date of moving or traveling out side of the country. Question, to qualify to file under the 5 year rule, is it 5 years when you first get a green card or 5 years after lifting conditions? I first got my conditional card in October 2015, got my conditioned removed in October 2018
  20. Hi, Onatarkie. Thank you for replying. Under the 5 year rule, will i still have to proof ties of us living together because I do not have anything. I got my permanent status in October 2018, and we have lived separately since April 2019. Thanks again.
  21. Hi beautiful people. I know this may sound absurd but my husband and I have been informally separated and did not get a divorce. We have no ties together and have been living separately for three years. Can I still file for naturalization and be approved? Please, anyone, share your experience. Thank you.. Side note: my husband is aware that I need to file... and will sign any document if he needs to. He has hope of us getting back together but thats a big no no.. S
