You can change it at port of entry at your first crossing, CBP will confirm the address. Otherwise, AR-11.

It appears the DS-5535 may now be processing quicker. Today, exactly 80 days after submitting my DS-5535, the Consulate has requested my passport back.

By any chance, during those 80 days, did you see updates to your ceac status (I mean updates where you didn't email them, case status updating on it's own)?

 

At my interview in April 2023, the CO told me " these (DS5535) do not take as long as they used to". I'm not sure how true that is but lets see what happens.

CEAC updated the day of the interview Feb 27th, Feb 28th, and March 1st. No further updates until last week. There were 3 unsolicited updates May 12th, 15th, and 16th. It updated again when I got the email this morning to return my passport.

They actually took over for an incompetent lawyer so they were definitely a breath of fresh air. 

So We decided to go with PIC and met with Chris, 

 

He was an amazing guy to speak with and compared to the others, we were really comfortable with him. he will take on our case late june/early july should we not hear anything back.  

 

He also mentioned if we get approved before filling, he would refund us the money which is amazing! The only downfall is that there's no monthly payment and it would have to be one payment and that'll take a hit in my wallet lol. 

 

 

Also,  Does Montreal consulate copy paste their response to every email? I am a little disappointed that I got the same email it was a completely different question. 

 

 

Chris did mention how Montreal was one of the worst US consulate, and i can see why 😕 

 

Anyways, Hopefully we all get approved sooner than later. Wishing everyone the best!

Yes, 99% of their emails are templates. Very rarely do they say anything different. Sometimes they paste the response, changing a word here or there, or rearrange a sentence 🫠
