Expediting K1 visa - Russian fiance (split)

Hi I'm new to this forum. My fiance is Russian and I was wondering if anyone has had any success in expediting their 1-I29F for Russian fiance? I was wondering if I could use "Emergencies and urgent humanitarian reason" template for my expedite.

 

Case was received in Sept 24, 2021.

I do not remember seeing any Russian expedites,  I may have missed them.

 

You can use any template that applies, obviously will depend on the specific circumstances of your fiance.

If you're planning to use the war in Ukraine as your reason...and your fiance lives in Russia...I'm not quite sure how you'd justify that one.

I would like to get her out of there before anything escalates, and also the sanctions will take effect soon.

I am sure you do, everybody would like their processing speeded up, but to get an expedite you need to have a valid reason.

I understand your reasoning and where you're coming from; however since there is no threat to Russian citizens inside Russia - I just don't think the expedite will be granted.

 

If your fiancée fears that the country will be locked down, she should follow what thousands of her fellow Russians have already done, and flee to Turkey / Georgia / Armenia / UAE.

Sanctions are not a reason to expedite. Many countries are under sanctions including Iran, Cuba and others and they do not get their applications expedited.

 

Fear of escalation is also not a reason to expedite. Many Ukrainians here were trying to expedite before Russia invaded and their applications were turned down. It wasn't until there was an active war going on that their expedites started getting approved because they were now in physical danger.

 

Valid reasons for expedite include:

Examples may include, but are not limited to, illness, disability, extreme living conditions, death in the family, or a critical need to travel to obtain medical treatment in a limited amount of time.

Yes we were discussing about this, a bunch of people from several telegram groups are trying to make their way back to Russia though because they are locked out of their banks or can't get citizenship/residency. In order to get a place to stay permanently you need some form of citizenship, and so we don't want to be stranded in those countries because of that. It's not as easy as just go to so and so country, the people in georgia are not friendly to incoming russians.

It’s actually quite easy or at least easier that you think. I have plenty of friends who are far from being considered well off who just picked up and left. There are plenty of legal paths to stay in Georgia and Armenia for extended periods of time and open bank accounts (and deposit cash your fiancée would be allowed to take out of Russia). 
 

I have not heard from any of my Russian friends who are currently in Georgia anything but wonderful things about Georgians. Perhaps because they’re respectful of another country traditions and its people, and are nothing but humble and grateful themselves.

Same here, seems to me Georgians have a reputation for being friendly. I did hear maybe don't speak Russian with them first, try to first at least speak English.

 

There are no direct flights to Georgia but it's still doable by other transport means. Armenia is a great suggestion as well.

I’m sorry but it’s on you to do your own research and find the path that works best for your situation.

There is actually a way to expedite your case for a Russian fiancée due to financial hardship, if you can prove that you were financially supporting your partner in Russia and now cannot do that due to bank sanctions. I was trying to find a post by another VJ member that I saw a couple of days ago about his case getting expedited due to this particular reason. Maybe @millefleur can help me navigate and find that thread. 

 

Other than that, as other people already mentioned, the "risk" and "potential escalation" is not going to get your case expedited.
