Hello everyone. We submitted our documents to CEAC (IR-1/CR-1) on January 19th, but yesterday (March 18th) after reading some posts about required financial documents, we uploaded additional pay stubs and some other financial supporting documents, and submitted them. My question is; Would this delay or reset our processing time for NVC? There was no warning or anything that states any delay on CEAC, and we couldn’t find any information on this matter online, so I wanted to start a new topic and ask my VJ friends.

Every time you submit additional documents, you are moved to the back of the queue again.

I have read many comments that says it depends on the document you submit. If they are main documents, or if you upload after RFE, than the delay happens. But if you upload additional documents before your review date, it does not effect the process. Many people seem to be DQ’ed like this. Can you explain more about your case, please?

I should have added “generally” in my previous post. Generally, you are moved to the back but apparently submitting under additional documents doesn’t trigger that. But if it’s submitted under main documents, then it’s delayed.

The answer is No, it does not delay the processing time. Nvc considers the date you initially submitted all your documents. You adding more documents under Additional documents tab does not reset the clock. We too did something similar & it didn't delay the process. Don't worry.

Thank you very much for this. 🙏🏻

Hi everyone,

I added some additional documents and it does appear that it sent me to the back of the line. Submitted everything in April 2022, but uploaded a renewed passport in June. The timeframe tracker on the NVC website currently says they are reviewing cases submitted June 13th. They requested the 2020 W2 in April, which we provided and am now deliberating whether to upload the w2 for 2021 or just wait on a response, which should hopefully be next week based on a additional document submission date on June 22nd.

Seems like its case by case whether it actually delays the process?

No. your DQ date will never change. These people are merely guessing on wether or not you will be moved to the back of the line. I would suggest waiting until u get your Invitation Letter to schedule interview before uploading any additional documents just to be on the safe side,

You can not submit under main docs once submitted
