Hello, can you ask the embassy to return your passport while you wait for the visa process? I've been waiting for 15 days and they don't give me the passport with the visa that was approved in the interview, and I will probably need the passport to travel in a few weeks, can be returned after they give it to you? thanks

The visa will be in the passport. So you won’t get the passport until it’s been issued and ready for you to receive it.

My question is, if while my visa is being processed, during the waiting time I can request my passport to use it because I have another trip to another place that is not the United States, and I need the passport

Let me rephrase it. So you won’t get the passport until it’s been issued and ready for you to receive it. The visa will be in the passport.

Who’s on first ?/.

 What’s on second ?/.

Anyway to answer your question yes you can ask for your passport back if you need it for something such as travel to another country besides the USA.

This can delay the approval of  your USA tourist visa.

I have been waiting for the passport with the visa for 15 days since the interview where it was approved and they told me that they would send it to me in 5 to 10 days, I have vacations for Easter at work and I need the passport, I thought they would have already sent it to me but they are taking too long! I don't understand so much delay
thank you !

The OP has the right to request their passport back at any time if it is needed before a decision is made/visa is issued.

That is not what OP is asking.

If OP needs the passport back before a US visa is issued, he/she can certainly ask for it back.

Yes you can request your passport back.  They may ask you for proof of travel before they return it.  It is not uncommon to get it back and return it when finished traveling.  However, you return back to the beginning of the line in the visa passport process.
