Hello friends,

I have applied on 29th March 2022for N-400.

Today, I had my N-400 interview at Dallas, TX center at 10.30 in morning. I took my wife with me so there wont be any issue if it is combo interview.

I went there in the building at 9.55 am. after fingerprint check and Photo taken, they sent us to 2nd Floor where we waited around 1.5 hours.

Everyone was called by and we were just waiting. So when I asked, Receptionist told me that each interview is assigned to particular Officer so they will call you.

Finally, officer called me and we went to his cabin. Before sitting, he made me took oath for providing correct information. asked for my ID, Green Card, Passport and my wife's ID. Then he told me that he will go for I-751 file first and then N-400.

He opened up my file and asked for me if I have any additional documents to provide which I did not uploaded. I said I have uploaded everything. He asked me for my 2021 Tax return details as he could not find it. I gave him copy.

Then he asked me my name, birthdate, wedding date, my wife's birthdate and how we met, where our wedding took place. Then he said he is going to remove the conditions.

Then he started process for N-400. He asked me 6 questions. (please find exact words of question in booklet)

1) Which people brought to America for slavery?

2) Which Ocean is on west coast ?

3) How many representatives in house?

4) when did the declaration of independence adopted ?

5) What is Capital of your State ?

6) I don't remember somehow...

Then he made me read sentence in Tablet and asked me to write down answer of it.

After that He asked me again same questions, Name, birthdate, address,.

Additional were about Place of birth, Country of citizenship, how many times I have been married, any kids.

Then he said he will repeat the questions from application for Yes/No answers. Made me signature on Tablet 3 times for all affirmations.

Everything done, he returned the IDs and Tax documents. Gave me answer copy and congratulated me. And said Oath Ceremony will be in 2-3 weeks.

All process took 15-20 min. He was nice and polite person. It was much easier experience than I thought.

I returned to home and status was changed to Oath Ceremony will be scheduled.

Congratulations! My interview was similar - once you get the 6 questions right, i think you're in the clear :)

Now just to wait for our ceremonies. One more step to go!

Congratulations to you too. :)

If you are applying under 3 years rule, IO may want to look at your documents/meet with your spouse to ensure it is a bona fide marriage. This is normal. You should take your spouse with you.

So my spouse ended up coming to the building only to be told to go back outside by the agent who is interviewing… I told him about the call we got and he apologized saying whoever called me was wrong 🙈

Thankfully it went well! Recommended for citizenship on the spot. Because it was just passed lunch time, I was told to go back at 1pm to take my oath. I did just that and get my naturalization certificate that day. Going to the SSA office next week to get my SSN updated. Probably will wait until my baby is born on March to get my passport along with her though. :)

Hi all, just checking in.

Still no word yet on my oath ceremony. I did manage to get thru to an immigration rep at the USCIS office and she told me that they requested the oath ceremony the day of my interview, but that there was a backlog after the holidays. Seeing as there were three major holidays after my interview date, it's understandable.

Hope everyone is doing OK with the new year!

Hoping you'll get your oath ceremony soon! When was your interview? I had mine last week (on the 26th) and have checking daily to see whether it has been scheduled but no luck yet.

Nice! Congrats to you and your wife!

Alas, I had a name change request at my interview, so I anticipated a delay.
