Any idea when the SSN will show up? It’s been 16 days since the combo card was delivered. I thought it was supposed to be just one week.

Hi all! I got an RFE notice today regarding a copy of our marriage certificate, proof of ongoing relationship, and a medical form. Now my partner did the K1 medical, which was done I believe in October of 2021 and I just want to make sure we don’t have to pay for another one. This is what the notice said:

Submit a completed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. A USCIS civil surgeon must complete and sign the form, and you must also sign the form. If the civil surgeon refers you to a specialist, the specialist must include his or her medical exam results and complete the proper sections of the Form I-693 before the civil surgeon may sign the form. Once everyone has signed, the civil surgeon will place the completed Form I-693 in a sealed envelope and give it to you. You must submit the sealed envelope containing the original Form I-693 that the civil surgeon signed and the medical exam results; we will NOT accept photocopied Form I-693 and medical exam results.
Civil surgeons must use the current Edition of Form I-693. You can find the current edition of Form I-693 on USCIS’s website at www.uscis.gov. In addition, the civil surgeon must ensure that all parts of Form I-693 were properly completed.
Please Note: All Forms I-693 signed by civil surgeons on or after October 5, 2022 must use the 07/19/2022 edition of Form I-693. USCIS will not accept the 09/13/2021 version (or any previous editions) if the civil surgeon signed the Form I-693 after October 4, 2022. Therefore, the civil surgeon administering your immigration medical examination must complete and sign the 07/19/2022 edition of the Form I-693.
Reminder: Effective October 1, 2021, applicants subject to the immigration medical examination must complete the COVID-19 vaccine series before the civil surgeon can complete an immigration medical examination and sign Form I-693. This applies to Form I-693 signed by civil surgeon on or after October 1, 2021.

any thoughts?

bump. any approvals or progess for anyone?

@dmeister3 we got the same rfe. Went ahead and did the i-693 at a nearby medical office for about 400 dollars. No sense in trying to get around an RFE this late in the process i figured.

I would think in your case you would want to mail it all in one package. If I understand correctly, they want the I-693 medical from you, which needs to be sealed, and a copy of your marriage certificate, which probably should be a certified copy. I suppose you could split the response so the proof of ongoing relationship is uploaded, but I personally would stress out that some jerk might decide that you didn't provide a complete response when only looking at the online or mailed portion.

Hello January 2022 Filers - i am hoping someone can help me or provide your perspective on what i should do in the following case.

I filed for my parents adjustment of status in January 2022. Unfortunately we did not send in the medicals right away. In June 2022 they got a letter that said medicals were needed, but to not send in anything yet as they were going to tell us when to send it. In June 2023 their EAD and I-130 both got approved and closed. Its now October 2023 a year and a half later and we still have not received the RFE for the medicals. I have tried sending in a couple of emails and keep getting a general email back saying they are working on the case.

Does anybody know what we should do? Should we wait or contact a lawyer or anything else you might suggest?

Thank you!
