Ap process questions

I got some questions, so we are almost 5 months into ap with fiancé visa. Does the fee expire after a certain time? When does a petition become expired? What else can we do besides sending nvc an inquiry and sending Islamabad embassy emails and calling them? There’s nothing like a red flag in our case, just that my fiancé went to Scotland for his masters and Abu Dhabi to visit his brother.

If its that long ,they probably  let it expired  ,best option  IMHO  is not to waste any more time and get married ASAP and apply for spousal  visa.

Not true and wrong advice. I have seen much longer APs than that, they weren’t expired. Also, getting married will not prevent another AP from happening which by the way is very common for Islamabad.

There’s nothing much to do but wait. Extended APs are very common for Islamabad. Keep in contact with the consulate and if I were you I’d send renewed letters of intent to marry every 4 months to keep the case ‘alive’.

I have different opinion.  Marriage does not cure the reason for extended AP.   Extended AP is not unusual for Pakistan cases, as you know.  I think the OP needs to practice patience and wait it out.

You can contact the embassy if you wish.  NVC is a dead end because they would have no knowledge of the current status.  

 

AP can take over a year, unfortunately.  Hopefully it will be resolved soon, but there is no estimated time for AP.

Poor record keeping in your country means long AP to get the information the embassy needs to continue the process

 

Did they keep your passport when u interviewed?

 

Did u have any red flag issues like big age gap? 

what was said by CO after interview?  any indication of outcome?

 

PLEASE DO A TIMELINE AND YES,,  I AM YELLING AS U ALL WANT HELP BUT DON'T DO A TIMELINE TO GIVE US INFO TO HELP U OR OTHERS

@Jeanne Adil, filled it out it made me put wrong dates on the timeline, passport was kept, no big gap, just 5 yrs apart, after interview said you will get an email, got a email on august 5th, ds 5535 filled and submitted after that case was last updated on sept 13.

I made a mistake on affidavit of support, I recorded his wrong name, what can I do now?

Thank you all for your responses, we will give it the most, 180 days and then look into spousal.

I was skimming through papers to look for petition approval date to fill out the timeline and that’s when I found out, please help what to do?
