I read some of the appeals. It is so scary that they even deny so many evidence and are so strict on interpreting the evidence.

Fam,

I have question   @Demise       @sandranj  @Stillwinning!!!😊 @FeDaniela

so when we file vawa the processing time is different than it changes to different one over the year or months. In the year of 2020 processing time was different than it is now. Do we fall into the year we filled for processing time or the current one  ?

I just read some of them and most of them make sense for denial. Some of them lived separate from spouse therefore couldn’t prove shared residence, or had restraining orders against them, or criminal history, or didnt prove that they entered the marriage in good faith by providing pictures of their experiences together, That’s normal because these are the main and important requirements for vawa self-petition for battered individuals in a relationship.

Current one. So right now it's January 2022, processing times are listed as 23 to 30 months for VAWA I-360s, so they're working on the cases between July 2019 and February 2020.

Obviously your mileage might vary depending on factors like complexity of your case, need for an RFE, need for additional background checks, and good old random chance.

Contradictions without citations only make you look dumb.

You are correct but I read one where they submitted financial evidence, photographs, lease agreements, joint bank statements, affidavits, and still USCIS asked for shared residence and bona-fide marriage proof. USCIS said affidavits didn't provide probatory evidence. Sometimes, I wonder what they think. @sandranj ma'am, @Demise @HustlingStill and other members, can you give an idea what they mean by probatory evidence? Thank you!

Yes providing shared lease agreement, or shared property ownership or shared mail received on the mail they both reside in. Also same address on both the spouse IDs can prove shared residency. Shared bills and Tax mail can also prove both residency and shared finances

Thank you very much.

I now understand how to count the processing time.

The two dates are the time frame of cases they are between. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hello, family

First of all, happy new year!! I’ve been a silent reader for years and this forum has been keeping me sane and hopeful, so thank you all for that 🤍

I got married to a US Citizen in 2017, I’ve submitted my I-485 in October 2017 but my marriage ended before our interview. I went to the interview and asked for my I-485 to be held in abeyance, which they did.

I’ve applied for VAWA in March 2019 and my I-360 was finally approved in August 2021. This week they transferred my I-485 from NBC to Vermont for “faster processing” but from what I’ve been reading here, it’s usually the opposite. Does anyone know why they transferred it to Vermont? Is it still gonna be sent to a local office after that? (I’m in Brooklyn, NY)

How long do you guys think it’ll take for them to schedule my interview? I’ve been waiting since 2017 and can’t wait for this whole process to be over.

Does anyone have any insight into this? @sandranj @Demise @HustlingStill @TBoneTX

Anyone going through the same as me?

I really hope they mean it when they say "in order to speed up processing". 🙏
