  1. Hi! My local office is Brooklyn but I believe the processing time is similar to NYC. My VAWA was on hold since March 2019, I had my VAWA approved in August 2021 and had my greencard approved this week. My experience was different - my I-485 was also being held at my local office, but when my VAWA was approved, it was sent to Vermont, then from Vermont to NBC, and back to the local office. I'm not sure why they did that but it took almost a whole year from when my VAWA was approved to getting the greencard.
  2. VJ Family 💜 Today my I-485 status changed to "New Card Being Produced"!!! I'm still in shock, I wanted to scream and jump and cry and laugh, all at the same time. I still can't believe it. I'm so used to refreshing my tracker app every day, multiple times a day, for the past 5 years that I caught myself doing it again now. I just wanted to thank you all so much for the support. I'm not the most active member of this forum but I've been following it for some time now and just wanted to thank everyone who shared their personal stories and experiences here. Every single one of you were extremely important to me and I found strength in all your words when I had none left. And for everyone who's reading this post and still waiting - You came a long way already, just by being here. You are SO brave and SO strong. I know how hard this wait is but your journey is coming to an end soon!!! If anyone needs to chat, my inbox is open, always.
  3. I haven't been interviewed yet, a couple of weeks ago I received an RFE for my medicals. Hopefully, my interview will be waived 🙏 It's been a really long wait for us, I know how difficult this situation is but I believe our journey is coming to an end soon - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!
  4. Mine took around 2 months. It arrived at MSC end of December and was moved to my local office on March 1st, 2022. I'm a March 2019 VAWA applicant but my I-485 was filled in 2017. I sent an email to my congressperson and I believe her inquiry definitely helped speed up the case
  5. My i485 was submitted in October 2017 I applied for Vawa begging of March 2019 and got approved in August 2021.
  6. Omg everyone! I'm exploding with anxiety right now. On July 11th, my lawyer received an RFE for my I-693. I just dropped it off at his office. He personally has never seen an interview being waived but as far as I'm seeing here, that seems to be the case 😳 I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I'm so happy already that my case is being moved!! Anyone from Brooklyn, NY going/went through the same situation? How long did it take for you to have an update?
  7. Hi everyone! I contacted Sen. Gillibrand back in January, I wasn't even expecting her to answer anymore, but today I FINALLY heard back from her with an update from USCIS. Their response included the following: "...Please be advised that a review of USCIS records indicate that this case is currently pending review with an Immigration Services Officer at the Brooklyn Field Office." Brooklyn is my local office - I already knew my case was there since March. But does anyone know what their response means, exactly? Thank you!!
  8. Hi VJ Family! Has anyone been successful in contacting Sen Gillibrand lately? I reached out to her in the beginning of January. In February I receive the following response: I appreciate you taking the time to bring this immigration matter to my attention. I know how important it is to you. In an effort to be of assistance, I have brought the information you presented to the attention of the US Citizenship & Immigration Services. I have requested a review of this matter and a written response from the agency. As soon as I receive a response, I will contact you again. However, I've never heard anything since then. I thought USCIS had to reply to a senator's inquiry within a certain period of time. Does anyone know how long they have to reply? 4 months of silence seems way too long, is this normal? I also reached out to my congresswoman a couple of weeks ago but still haven't heard back. I've submitted my I-485 in 2017 and my I-360 was approved 11 months ago, I just needed some light at this point 😣
  9. Hi @Stillwinning!!!😊 and Visa Journey family My case was different than yours and I'm wondering why that happened, maybe someone can give me some light here? I've submitted my I-485 in 2017, applied for Vawa in March 2019 and had my I-360 approved in August 2021. Last December my case got transferred from NBC to Vermont for "faster processing", then in February, it was transferred back to NBC again for "faster processing". I don't understand why they're going back and forth with my case. Apparently, I would have had it approved faster if I submitted a new I-485 😣 Would you know why that happened? How long do you think it'll take for them to transfer it to my local office? I appreciate any insight. Thank you!!
