The NOA2 for my fiancé and me was approved on October 17, 2022.  We are also in the same situation -  just wondering where the case is at.

The NVC auto-replies to email that our case has been received but is awaiting data entry into their system.

Called the USCIS today after 75 days since NOA2 approval, and they say it doesn’t show as sent to NVC in their system.  The woman said it can take 90 days to transfer to the NVC and have a case created.

Curious if anyone knows how the transfer from USCIS to NVC occurs?  Is it a physical transfer of documents, or electronic, or some of both?  Just wondering why it takes 90 days to transfer?

It’s just frustrating because the NVC website currently says they are working on cases “received” on November 3, 2022.  But that means nothing unless you know when your case was received by the NVC, or even when it was, or will be sent.

USCIS sends the physical paper petitions in batches like in this photo. It's really absurd how they haven't evolved into electronic processing.

Our NOA2 was October 14 and the case was reported as received on 11/14 by NVC. When we sent over a request to check the status I was specific in my request that we be provided with the NVC receipt date to give us an idea to when to expect a case #. There's no guarantee they'll provide one because what I've been seeing is for some request it depends on the person that responds to the request.

I got some new information from other people saying it can take up to 90 days - not for the actual transfer but for them to do the data entry. Ughhh. Then more waiting after that!

Yeah I agree,  that’s really wild that they haven’t updated that process yet.

What does in progress mean? How is this information gathered?

Thanks

In progress means there was a decision made previously. You see with it RFE received. The previous decision was RFE sent. An approval with no RFE will show as new.
