We have my step son going on October 1, my step daughter on October 20 and my wife and I on November 6.  We all return together on December 1.  We have no idea if any of this will work but we are booked anyway.  My wife and step kids are traveling on their Philippine passport and I am traveling with my wife so I should not need a visa (at this time).  No guts no glory!

November 6th you get there like the 8th, spend 10 day in quarantine and I think you have to quarantine in separate rooms, then return on 1st of December?

That not very much time to enjoy the Philippines, or am I missing something?

It is just for the baptism of my step son's kid.  Definitely not as much time as we would like.  That short trip is 3 weeks off work and my wife doesn't have that much time accrued.  It sucks but we will do our best to enjoy as much as we can.  We just bought a car so we will be able to do a little traveling this time around.  We arrive in the 7th so the 10 days will be the 17th or 18th.  That leaves 2 weeks for the visit.

This is a matter of hotel policy, not government rules.  Some hotels will allow couples traveling together to share a room.  They simply have to sign a waiver.  Other hotels will not allow sharing rooms.  You need to verify the policy of the hotel when making reservations.

Makes senses for the Philippines, it's always a ####### shoot, and rules and regulations are different and vary day to day

Been there one time, I thought it was a really neat city. We rode motorbikes from Davao and we left before he sun set we were not sure how safe it was for Americans there at night.  I really enjoyed what I saw, hope to return but the pandemic has prevented me from entering Philippines.

Glad to know you've visited our small town. It's pretty safe for Americans. There are a lot of Expats living in GenSan, they even have their own little community as well. Hopefully I can visit next month or else I will end up in Cancun 😅

I don't think that really affects most here since even vaccinated travelers coming from the US weren't eligible for the reduced quarantine anyways.

With the COVID cases rising in the Philippines, it is still not safe to travel right now.  I am also wondering if there are people out here who successfully traveled to the Philippines and for how long did you visit.

We have Fil Am group in North Dallas and we meet for Christmas, Thanksgiving,  and a couple of pool parties each year, we have about 20 couples, I have not heard of single one of them going back home, the quarantine is the part of the deal that kills it for anyone I know.
