Submitted all documentos to NVC over a month ago

On May 11th I submitted all documents requested by the NVC.  I am a petitioner living abroad and my husband is the beneficiary.   As per the NVC timeline, they are reviewing all petitions submitted after May 17th.  To this day that status of all the documents sent still reads "submitted".  Nothing has been reviewed nor accepted.  Furthermore, I never recieved a confirmation of receipt from the NVC nor do I know if they even send something like that.  I feel like were were left in limbo considering most people get an updated status, even if its a document that was not accepted.  We have absolutely nothing and we have check dozens of times and everything they requested from us has been sent and submitted.   Can anyone give me guidance as to what to do next?  Thanks in advance!

Patience is the key.  You want immediate results, which is not possible with US immigration.  You really need to complete a timeline here on VJ to get accurate answers.

It's just a waiting game unfortunately. We submitted ours at the beginning of April and are still waiting too. They started to approve ours a few weeks ago, then stopped. I got notified that they needed more information for one document, so I uploaded it within the hour. We got a notification the next day to check our account, but there was no new update. It's sorta frustrating that they approved like 80% of the documents and haven't finished for whatever reason.

But just keep checking and hopefully you will get them approved soon 🙂 If it says submitted you've done everything on your end. They won't email you unless they need more information, reject a document, or to notify you that they have all been approved.

Best of luck!

CEAC status is the same.   I just want to be sure that we are not stuck in limbo because we never recieved a confirmation from the NVC that all documents were submitted by them.  I had read somewhere that they usually send a notification on the CEAC message box.

You can follow up with NVC via phone.  Highlight that your document submission date is past the date listed on their review timeframe.

Our submission date is exactly the date posted this week on the NVC timeframes page, so we're giving them another week until we start calling.  No change to our document status as well.  Still says "Submitted" for all of them.

Hi, I am sorry to hear we are in the same boat.

My husband and I got on May 8th 2021 "Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case", on May 12th we resubmitted what was asked from us.

Even though NVC updated that they are processing cases submitted on May 18th, we still didn't receive any response. We resubmitted on May 12th, and it just says "submitted".

I wish I had something relevant to tell you.

If the NVC posted window period for reviewing documents has passed. You should call them and inquire about your case. Sometimes what they see from their side is different from what we see on CEAC. NVC - 603 334 0700.

Hi Ahava,

Thank you for your help. :)

He called 6 or 7 times yesterday, there's automated secretary saying that they are not giving case status updates and the call just hungs up.
We will send them an email, that public inquiry, but they are currently processing those from May 27th.

Did anyone call them these days and actually got a person to talk to?

I actually called them yesterday. The wait time was about 2hrs. Consistently keep dailing back when it automatically hangs up until it says "this call may be recorded..." And generally better to call at around 6Am (PT)or Evenings(PT).

I sent them an online inquiry.  Seems all people get are an automated answering system when they call.  I'll just continue to be patient since there is nothing else to do.   I know we will have to wait for a very long time for the interview at the Embassy since here in Costa Rica the consulate has been barely working since the pandemic began and now the country is going through its hardest hit pandemic wave.

I 'think' Costa Rica has been one of the faster Embassies throughout the pandemic.  Not so many cases there even in normal times and they have more or less been taking care of them.  I wouldn't think they have a big backlog.

Patience is virtue. I felt the same way, and still do, and it gets frustrating easily. The pandemic has messed everything up across the board. We resubmitted documents requested from the NVC at the first half of May and then i seen the review time window was on May 18th, so I sent inquiries along with photos of the time difference 😐. Just got notification for my wife today that we are documentarily complete, but still waiting on our son. I am hoping it will arrive today or tomorrow. Then it is waiting for the next step, which doesn't give me warm fuzzies hearing all the waiting stories for the interview.

I submitted documents on 8th of May. No response from them. Made an inquiry on June 14th. Also called NVC on June 22nd. The told that they see my dates are overdue (the timeframes shows 24th May) and told that will redirect my case for supervisor review. No response since then. Don’t know how long will it take to review. It has been as of June 23rd 45 days already for me.

Do you believe calling will help? I called, they told that they see I overdue and told that redirected to supervisor. And I am sure that I will wait another month for response no matter how much I am overdue. Today 46 days passed since submission.
