Hi there

My wife and I are trying to see each other again. And we are still waiting on getting the date of interview. If I (petitioner) travel to her and meanwhile she gets the interview date and she attends the interview, is there a risk that might cause a problem in her visa interview process? Is it okay if I would be there while she could attend the interview? Or I have to be in the US? My job can be done virtually and I work on my own.

I would appreciate your useful thoughts on this. We just miss each other so much and things aren’t moving as we expected.

what do you think?

it is always good to have as much time together for proof of a real relationship for embassy interview

most do not allow the USC inside

but in many countries the CO will ask "when is the last time you were togther?"   and your wife can say "he was just here (if you have returned home) or he is outside

Thank you guys!

It seems not only there is no harm but it would benefit the case!

I'm not a USC yet, but in process to become. And yes, we would love to live and stay together anyway. We would have been together outside of the US until her visa is ready, but I need to get my citizenship as well as retaining my US residency and domicile. So when she gets in to the country, she could be a citizen in 3 years and not wait for 5 years like myself.

First question the CO asked my fiancée: “when was the last time you saw your fiancé”

Her answer: “this morning.  He is waiting for me outside. Shall I get him?” The CO didn’t take her up on her offer but she went on to say that I planned to wait for the visa for 3 weeks before being forced to go home without her.

Visa verbally approved at end of the  interview and in hand 10 working days later.

If you can be there during her interview and take her home with you, that will count for a lot.

If you can be there when your spouse is getting interviewed, the better. My spouse was on a long 9 months deployment when I attended my interview, and I wished he was there with me, or even a phone call away 😅☺️

Dude I always avail myself for interviews.  You never know.  Last three I attended with her, released the kids to roam around, and otherwise hurried the process along LOL.  Nothing better than “he’s right here if you have questions” and those CO’s don’t scare me none.  I fill out all the applications, I sign as preparer, and if there’s anything interesting it’s on me not her.  Give me a blue slip and watch the fun (never happened but still LOL)
