N400 interview decision pending tracker

Has anyone here tried to file a lawsuit or writ of mandamus? Even the processing time receipt date is past my submission date and my interview was July 30, 2021. This is way outside of the 120 day adjudication window they're supposed to be working with.

 

On another note, I heard federal workers will be going back to the office in April so maybe this will help with the congestion at the national archives with the A files

I'd be calling my senator if its past 120 days.

An update for my case. I received a call from USCIS and they told me my applic was aproved (n400). Took about a month since the interview where they told me a decision could not be made. Oath ceremony is early may.

So the delays for those stuck here with pending-decisions. Its certainly varies from case to case. I was already really worried even in this one month. I can't imagine how you must feel after such a long wait, so yea please see if you can talk to your senator and some higherup at USCIS.

Hey, I understand your frustration since I was just recently in your position. Forget about the 120 days, they don't follow that. I don't know what state you live in but it varies state to state (especially in big cities like NYC) and it also varies case to case. Have you read the past answers on this forum/topic? My best advice is to calm down and be patience. Your day will come. I had my interview on January 28, 2021 and they approved my naturalization this past February. Something that I learned in the hard way is that those 120 days for us is like 7 days for USCIS.

Same thoughts here, as @abfarand @oriana77mentioned.  Make sure first you exhaust all other options: contact Senator, representatives, file FOIA (this seems to unstuck some cases), and even contact the FRC directly. 

Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on layers, not when it is USCIS job to do their part.  Why should we waste time and money to accomplish their job?  Frankly, I think everyone should be back working, most of us have been since the start of the pandemic, enough is enough.  And I understand your frustration, all of us here have been through it, one day that is put behind.

During the interview, Officer asked for the approval letter for the form I-751, even though I have presented the 10 year greencard which I got issued after successfully removing conditions.

I am so happy and relieved that this excruciating wait is over for me. 

 

I dont know if it did help my case or not but its a very postiive coincidence. I applied for FOIA for my full A-file and also for my I751 and N400 one month ago. Two weeks before my approval, FOIA got processed. I assume it might have helped with my N400 approval.

 

Now, off to the next stage of my life. Good luck to everyone else and I pray that everybody's case gets processed quick and approved soon.😃

Congratulations!!!  I am sure the FOIA helped, that could be the trick to get all these cases pending.  Your experience will help others here who are still waiting for positive news.

I seem to be part of this group, in that my interview was over a month ago, and my case still says :
Oath Ceremony will be scheduled

 (in the app)

 

Online it says :

- We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number ......

(and)
- Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled     XX XX 2022
-- We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.    XX XX 2022

 

 

I'm guessing everything is good to go so far?

 

what's the longest anyone has had to wait before getting booked for the oath ceremony?

I believe FOIA definitely helped. It is too good to be just a coincidence that my FOIA request got approved and within a week my pending N400 got approved.

Your case is much different, you were Approved, so that is good news!  do not have to wait for a decision to be made.  I am sure you will receive the oath ceremony notice pretty soon.

Not sure the longest anyone has waited, I heard of a few cases where they were waiting for 3-5 months for the ceremony after approval.

I saw someone also had X months between the interview/decision, and the oath.  I know of a guy who claimed he waited over 18months after his interview and only got his ceremony after reaching out to his representative. but idk if he was just exaggerating.

VJ member @Libertateposted detailed info today with contact info for AIC ( American Immigration Council) offering free legal rep to those wanting to sue and be part of class civil lawsuit on delays.

That might be me, I used to post here a fair bit.

 

I did indeed wait 18 months for a decision. It is unusual though.

Possibly. I'm bad with names. I just know I've seen a few where their interview dates is month XX, and by the time their actual oath ceremony happens, it's more than 6months later.

Seems 99% of ppl get their ceremony date the same day, or within 24hrs. Only very few seem to wait months and months before the notice for the ceremony. IDK what that depends on.

Looking at the timeline data tables here, it's not like 99% get oath Same day.  Pretty much everyone has to wait anywhwhere from 2-5 weeks. Then there are some of us who have to wait longer. My oath ceremony is about 8 weeks after my interview eg.

 

To be clear I wasn't approved in the interview and was in limbo for a while till I recieved a phone call abour approval and oath location a few weeks after interview.
