These new Items or Questions on the I-134 (Edition Date: 4/25/2022) provide extra data so the consulate can determine the risks of the petitioner and beneficiary becoming dependent on government assistance. Good Luck!!!

Makes sense!! Thank you for taking the time to explain. 🙏🏼

It says: K1 visa applicants, you must receive packet of instruction prior to scheduling your appointment. So do not book your appointment, you have to wait for the instructions from the embassy. I filled out ds160, waited for a week and then I sent an email to them that and then they sent me the packet.

The packet states which documents to bring and also to fill out ds 160 and send the confirmation page in an email when you have all the documents. But in any case you can call the embassy to check all this.

@Boy1988 I'd still fill out the DS160. Some people fill it out while at NVC, and others wait until it's at the embassy.

You are permitted to fill out the DS-160 at any time so long as it is less than six months before the interview. I've heard RapidVisa is giving people incorrect information that it has to be filled out after it (a) gets to the embassy and (b) you have instructions, but this is false. If you happen to have a change in your information from the first time you fill out the DS-160 to your interview, you are always permitted to fill out a new one and call the embassy to update. I presume Bogota is a quick embassy so you should feel free to do everything now. Congratulations!

I filled out the i134 before they updated the form. It cost me $104 to ship it to my fiance. Does that mean I have to fill out a new one?

Wow! That’s quite expensive! I was thinking of printing and filling it out myself and have my fiancé fill out the page where his sign is needed then have it scanned then I’ll print it out. To answer your question, according to the USCIS site:

“The edition date is 4/25/2022. You can use the old form till June 27, 2022, but best to use the new form for those of you who are still waiting for the consulate interview.”

If your interview is before June 27, 2022, I think the old form should be okay. However of it’s after that date, I think you’ll have to use the updated one.
