Mini-B. had great visit with Mama T-B., doting senior she man.

Our lunch was the remainder of the bagged Aldi salad, just made it before spoilage man.

Warshered/baked/folded Many (2+1) laundry loads, victorious conqueror* we man.

       *and Official Rant-Thread Thread Laundress, longstanding appointment man

Dished/de-dished the warsher, domestic we man.

Gloriously zzz'd for 1 + half an hour, no chance Saturday man.

Din-din was ABCs+12Manys (Mini-B.) & Costco chili (us), ingest respectively Two Guys man.

Watched news of approaching tropical storm, who needs more rain man.

Watched AFV with Mini-B., Ex-Mrs.-T-B., & Cousin Mini-B., laugh we and ex-she and wee men man.

Turned Mini-B. over to Ex-Mrs.-T-B., never gets any less sad man.

Before that, recited "We're Two Guys" in her earshot, Statement of Policy man.

For the whole weekend I've been reading "The only plane in the sky: An oral history of 9/11". Amazing book. Simply extraordinary.

I know it was published in 2019, but it was just translated to Polish, so I could read it.

All afternoon/evening, miu asleep in marshmallow bed, zzz miu man.

Annual wellness exam tomorrow morning. After a spring and summer of getting treated like a pincushion and lit up like an X(ray)mas tree, I get to get poked/prodded/stabbed all over again. Not expecting anything earth shattering having had pretty much every single test I'm having tomorrow already in the past 6 months and done (mostly) great on them all. I do need to have my thyroid checked since that was the only issue on the horizon, T3 and T4 numbers still okay but I have a marker for developing hypothyroidism. 

 

Oh and did I mention? My husband changed his flight so he could spend another couple of days in the UK. 😕 Oh well, what's another couple of days... I get it though, if it were me, I'd be spending as much time as possible with the people I love. He's up in Scotland right now with his mum and her boyfriend/partner, having a look at everything that needs fixing in the house. At least this time the roof doesn't need fixing and there's no lichen growing in any of the bathrooms. 🙄

Actually a himmicane, not a hurricane, si man and no ma'am.

 

Live report (midnightish Central time, see man):

Thing is a "minimal" Category 1 'cane, whoopee with such distinctions man..

Thing has no developed eye and apparently hasn't made landfall even now, no and no man.

Supposed to come ashore at Sargent, TX and go directly over Houston city center, bullseye man.

Coast is getting absolutely hammered with wind and rain, how dry they aren't man.

 

We are inland a bit, extracoastal we man.

Hasn't rained very much at all, yet, surprisingly man.

And no funder & lightning, zero man.

Also surprisingly, a consistent power innage* so far, surprising man.

       *failure of the power to go out, hee hee man

Wind has been powerfully strong, seemingly from the east, gauge we man.

Worst is supposed to come at around Many a.m. to Many a.m., optimally zzz we man.

 

Miu slept for Many (2+2+1) hours in marshmallow bed, zzz miu man.

Miu awoke for a snack, then slept for 2 or so hours atop miu-tower, re-zzz miu man.

Miu then awoke and wanted to chase toys thrown by Daddy, nocturnal miu man.

Is miu's first hurricane, young miu man.

 

This is also Cousin Mini-B.'s first 'cane, none in Ecu man.

This is Mini-B.'s second 'cane, around for Harvey wee man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. will have to be terrified by herself, free independent woman she man.

Waiting for an update from TBone... hope you're doing okay.

 

Physical went well, except for the part where they couldn't get blood out of me (again) so I have to go back this week to try again. I was advised to drink a couple of liters of water before I show up -- I could be very dehydrated. (I didn't feel that way!) The downside is that after the aborted blood draw my wrist started acting up, and I just took a Tylenol with codeine to deal with the pain. Now I'm feeling very, very mellow, lol.

Things apparently got pretty bad right when we went to bed at 1 a.m., assume we man.

Power went off exactly at Many a.m., according to stopped clocks man.

We awoke sometime before sunrise, couldn't re-zzz man.

 

Finally gave up and got up sometime around Many (2x2x2+1) a.m., no re-zzz we man.

Called Ex-Mrs.-T-B., surely terrified she man.

She admitted not zzz-ing from Many till Many a.m., we slept through all of it man.

Cousin Mini-B. also pretty rattled, no 'canes in Ecu man.

Mini-B. slept through the whole thing, melatonin'd wee man.

 

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. lost power only twice and briefly, during height of storm man.

Conversely, WE were powerless for Many (2x2x2x2+1) hours, grrrrRRRR man.

Cool/cloudy day, so boring but not too miserable inside casa, for most of day man.

 

We and all neighbors disgusted with power company, less power to us man.

They were so slow that Mini-B.'s skool remains closed today, all others open man.

No lightning, no flooding, no direct hits, but lengthy powerlessness man.

A bird could glance the wrong way at the transmission lines and they'd go out, grrrr man.

Very casual with how much of our life's time they waste, they don't care man.

Visited PetSmart with a $Many-off-$Many coupon, $ave we man.

Found 2 roof-shingles in our back yard, call insurance co. we man.

Din-din was Tuna Glop (microwave rice, toucans tuna, can peas), ingest we man.

Dessert was a roaring nap, zzz we man.

Miu has dropped her Many'rd toy at our feet, eager miu man.

Semiannual citywide small-town GS being held on Saturday, attend we man.

Favorite subdivision GS being held on Saturday also after 2-year hiatus, great planning man.

We shall have to arise at o'dark-Many to attend the one* and then the other**, sheesh man.
